Answer the question…what has Mallett done that makes you think he's better than even one QB that's on an NFL roster right now.
I point out deficiencies that the Texans might be able to exploit, it doesn't mean they will be able to do so. Anyway, I don't expect many on this forum to be able to watch a game and actually know what they are seeing so I should probably just start spouting ridiculous rhetoric and hot takes to fit in.
It's cool, I'm hopping on board the embarrassing hot take machine. Mallett is the worst QB in the NFL and we should go with Tebow or Hoyer for the rest of the season. Texans fans should abandon the team until Rick Smith is fired and Bob McNair is forced to sell the team. We should trade JJ Watt to pick Cardale Jones.
There's only one word to describe you and that is delusional. No matter how many different people tell you that you are wrong, off the mark, or moronic in your views, you still believe that you aren't the problem. Maybe it's time to look yourself in the mirror. I have hope that someday you do.
Yes, no matter how many people tell me that 1+1=8 I won't believe them. Numerous people can say the same stupid things and it doesn't add any validity to their comments.
Well, Hoyer would be a better option moving forward if the Texans want any chance to get some wins this year. It won't happen with Mallett unless every other component of the team steps it up.
Based on what? On a few passes against the Falcons' 3rd string guys who were going with a 3 man rush and playing prevent in a game already decided? You certainly can't be saying that based on anything Hoyer has done in his career or on Hoyer's first start. Mallett isn't great, but he's still easily the best QB on the roster....not that it really says much.
I've never seen a game lost in the first quarter before .... This game was lost in the first quarter when the Falcons went up 14-0. Our defense was playing OK , but dumb penalties caused them to lose focus and wear out . Multiple times that drive we had chances to force a punt but gave them extra chances . You could see that the defense was getting winded and started giving up successively longer plays . The real reason that drive broke us is because the offense then went 3 and out . The offense turned the ball over 3 times in the first half , you cannot ask your defense to bail you out time and time again . Offensive line is an issue , QB is an issue , TE is an issue , WR is an issue , the only position we are above average at is RB and they rely on the line . Defense has huge holes at safety and LB play . We are devoid of overall depth and talent and it is compounded by the fact that our schemes appear to be crap . As a fan who approaches sports analytically I place more value on having a good coaching staff and general managing staff and feel that generally good performance in those areas will eventually right the ship no matter what short term outcomes happen ... However the Texans staff is pure crap and so barring us getting lucky we are gonna have a mediocre team for many years to come .
Lots of new information today. In fact, the Texans may have had a shot if not for all the new information.
You're absolutely delusional. Nobody is saying Hoyer is a stud…but I can easily pick out at least 10 games from last season where Hoyer had a better game than anything Mallett has showed us this season. And it's not even close.
It's pretty decent sophistry, making a lesser player seem like the greater. I could see how it might convince some who don't know any better.
Tell us what Mallett has done that puts him above any QB mentioned. At least back up your talk with something.
Again, if you actually think that Mallett is worse than Tebow, there's no point in me talking to you about football.
BTG is just trying to get banned at this point. Unfortunately I think it might make the board less entertaining were he to succeed.
