What pathetic broken franchise since its inception. Morons from the owner to the coach. Great job passing up on a stable safe QB in Teddy Bridgewater for mallet their a Patrick quoted lol what a joke of a team. I'm a Rockets fan first and they are the Spurs of Houston sports. All McNair care about is increasing ticket prices annually and lining his pockets. Broken franchise. Losing 42-7 in the 4th quarter lol
It irks me that everywhere I look, this city is branded with the Texans likeness. People who are diehards of that team are mindless drones...like a sheep led to slaughter. I'm a Rockets fan first. We are immensely blessed to have an A1 run organization. Management gets **** done. It's a shame that this city doesn't appreciate this team as much as it should be.
Good god Rockets season can't come soon enough. So glad I like basketball more than football, idk what I'd do with myself with the mediocrity of the Texans for 13 years. *three weeks
I'm a Texan, and I simply have to congratulate the owner of The Texans for insuring that no one in the country or in the world can forget the place where that team resides, Texas. Yes, the state is unknown the world over. The city the team calls home is so little known around this rolling ball we call Earth that the owner knew that naming the team something relating to that city, Houston, like the Astros (Houston being our little known headquarters of the space program) or the Oilers (our little known world center for the oil and gas industry), for example, would simply confuse the people of the world. So knowing that we live in a little known state, Texas, in an even lessor known city, Houston, was unacceptable from where he sits (wherever that multimillion dollar spot might be), said owner of the team took action. He would name the team The Texans, educating Texas, the United States, and the World about where his (and I thought the team was ours) team resides, in the GREAT, but little known State of Texas. Mr. McNair saw his duty as owner to select a team name that left little doubt that, by golly, Texas is where The Texans play! What a brilliant idea, Mr. McNair. Yeah, The Texans play in Texas. I would never have guessed.
What would you have named the team? Man, so painful to watch nfl. You can't do **** without an elite qb.
Were it possible (it wasn't, thanks to Adams), the Oilers. As for an alternative? Something relating to the city of Houston, or even the state. What I would NOT have picked is the generic name of the state's inhabitants, Texans. At least that armpit of the state, Dallas, managed to come up with "Cowboys." While it wouldn't have been my choice, given a choice, it's better than "Texans," in my humble opinion. The Rockets. The Astros. The Oilers. I would have preferred a name along similar lines. To chose The Texans is the equivalent of throwing up your hands and declaring to the world that you have no imagination what so ever, despite your billions of dollars, Mr. McNair.
I don't like the Texans name either. But I can't really think of anything else that fits the city as well as the Oilers, Astros, or Rockets. Maybe the Roughnecks?
Bad name=bad franchise....teams with bad names don't win championships. The worst teams have the worst names..Bengals,Browns, Texans...lol!
thank our garbage front office for giving Schaub a massive deal and passing on Peyton Manning when he was available. Rick Smith and the whole front office are just incompetent.
True. There might be actually people who go to NBA games in Houston now before the football season's over. Honestly though, the whole Oilers debacle growing up made me more of an NFL fan than Houston fan. So thankfully I'm less attached to them than I am of the Astros/Rockets. Otherwise I'd have coping mechanisms.
If only the Cowboys (and Astros) didn't use a star in their logo, maybe that is why we didn't use something related to space? Another football team with a star logo besides the Cowboys? LOL, who is that? Houston Rockets Houston Astros Houston Comets Would have been nice if the Texans kept with the theme.
Texans suck. I'm usually ride or die houston but their "image over talent" annoys me. They'd rather be mediocre for the next 10 years than take a chance on a talented player who may have attitude problems. You gotta eventually take a risk and the Texans don't comprehend that
Lmao. I work with some die hard Texans fans and they are definitely mindless. But I agree the city would rather talk about why the Texans lost 54-0 than get excited about a VERY good Rockets team. Football runs Houston. I like Football alot but it couldn't EVER top NBA basketball as far excitement.
