Yeah because a freaking star ranking mean that player is automactically gonna make then a good player. Tell that to TCU, and Boise st. If you want to blame someone, blame Mack Brown. Also, a word of advice since I clearly know more than you. ESPN is the LAST source to go to when it comes to recruiting.
You know more than me, and you are saying TCU gets better talent than UT year in/year out? You are a clown.
Nobody said every single freshmen should contribute right away. Quite creating straw men that don't exist. UT is a disorganized mess out there and anybody with sense can clearly see that. Talent isn't the only problem. Charlie Strong is in over his head. He's running a clown show. He should give Teddy Bridgewater half of his UT salary. After he's fired from UT, I doubt we here from him again. Those two good years he had a Louisville will be his career highlight.
Anybody that says Texas had more talent last year than people realize is still living in the fantasy world of "Texas is the class of the state" mentality. This team's best QB was Tyrone Swoopes last year....
Saban's players would play smarter and better and would not embarrass themselves. You need to screw your head on. Nobody is saying UT should be good. But there is no excuse to look clueless on the field so often on both O & D. Lack of talent doesn't give Charlie Strong a pass. Wouldn't surprise me if the players no longer respect him.
Here's the thing, I really like Charlie Strong. But I think people at this point see that he has served his purpose. He came in, cleaned things up, and brought in a good recruiting class. I wouldn't mind maybe giving him one more shot next year, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was gone this year.
I'm not some first class evaluator of talent. I don't do that for a living. I'm just saying the people who do do it for a living say that. Obviously, talent doesn't always pan out. At one time, they had Swoopes as 5 stars (he dropped to 4). Gilbert was supposed to be the 2nd best QB of his class. It's not a perfect science, but there's a whole industry around it - so I assume it's not just random guessing. In addition to talent not panning out, we also lost some talent when Strong cleaned up the program. Also, Gray was the #1 RB recruit coming out of high school, but it seems injuries have really hurt his abilities. REGARDLESS of what you believe is the talent differential, no way should we losing a quarter 30-0 to these guys. NO WAY. There's a bunch else wrong.
Great recruiting wins that didn't translate to production on the field. Gray's excuse seems to be the Achilles injury. I do not know what the explanation is for Malcolm Brown. From #2 RB recruit to not even drafted by the NFL in 4 years at Texas.
Maybe this is right. Seems like Heard should be returning kicks and we should have a QB who can complete a pass or two.
So..... Not even a season and a half and UT folks screaming for Strong's head. SMH. I mean UT is only like 2 plays away from being 3-1 this year. You guys need to learn some patience. At least give the guy a chance and don't hold a couple of special teams bonehead plays as the reason to dump him.
