I've never liked the Penguin on this show. I think I'm the only one who thinks he is damn annoying. Even critics of this show seem to unanimously agree the Penguin has been the star of this series; not me. I would rather watch this Jerome character than Penguin. I was glad he was left out of this recent episode. Barbara as a villain is sneaky awesome too. All of a sudden this chick is super hot as a psycho. I miss Lil Wayne and Little Catwoman's relationship. I hope they bring that back. Gotham is getting better, but I don't think they know what to do with the Riddler.
Penguin came off as the person with the most character. He was not overly likable but he was interesting. With so many other uninteresting characters around he shone like a star. The Joker kid is definitely make the show this year. Rocket River
Gave up halfway through last season. Season 2 is getting good reviews, so I may have to binge and catch up this weekend.
Penguin definitely had the most character development last season, but I didn't care about any of it. I think the only thing I enjoyed about last season was Alfred and the relationship between Catwoman and Lil Wayne.
Really liked this episode. Spoiler Wasn't expecting Jerome to die so soon and I'm a little disappointed because of the way he was carrying that character. However, I get it and can live with it if they continue to play up the different possibilities of who the Joker is. I am also enjoying Barbara way more this season than last. Next week looks Penguin centered so we will see where he is maybe going this season.
grrrr. seems like the same people that convinced me to stop watching it, kept watching it and apparently it's good now. will continue where I left off.
I may be of some help. If you are still in last season and you see Fish on your screen, fast forward. You will not miss anything. You may want to watch her stuff in the last episode but that is it. When you catch yourself in that last episode going, how did she get here in perfect condition, you will not be any different than those of us who watch the whole season and said the same thing.
Watch it as long as you continue to enjoy it or it can hold your attention , so many folks on here, are killjoys and have high expectations of every episode sometimes.
Same here about Jerome but they do think they are doing some serious world building this season. Really enjoying this season. It seemed like they are mining some Harley Quinn elements for Barbara to a certain extent at least.....
No sign of Ivy yet in Season 2. Might be too young to get evil. Not surprised Jerome wasn't the real Joker since Bruce is still a kid at this point. Dude who played Jerome deserves a damn Emmy. Spectacular performance.
Probably my favorite episode so far. Spoiler I was surprised they killed off Jerome (who I assumed was the Joker), but ultimately I think it's a good thing. My favorite versions of the Joker are the ones with no backstory - you don't know who he is, where he came from, or why he acts that way. That makes him a more terrifying villain. While Jerome was a good villain, we knew who he was and where he came from and that this all stemmed from parental issues. Again, he was still a good villain, but Joker is capable of being even better. If kid-Bruce can beef up and matures to be a bit more athletic, it would be cool to see him be a more active character (not necessarily the ******* Batman, but you know, somethin'). He can be the frightened little boy for only so long. Buuuuttt even if that doesn't happen it wouldn't condemn the show, since the main character is (and should be) Gordon.
If Jerome would have been the Joker, it would have been terrible. Not because the actor who portrayed him was bad. He was actually pretty impressive. The one thing I don't like about this show is that everything is in your face as in THIS is going to be the 'Pengiun', this is going to be Harvy Dent, this is going to be Catwoman etc. There no subtleness to any of the backstories. It's hard for me to believe that Bruce as a child will already be aquatinted with pretty much all his villains and allies when he become Batman.
This is a very minor plot issue. With out it, there would be no point to the show. I personally find Barbara annoying and boring. Penguin by far is the best.
I'm loving Babara this season... We have only seen a glimpse of Penguin this season, but in the past, he is the one that I have found the most annoying. I still don't understand why everyone likes this character. This show is definitely getting better (Not saying much last season was awful). I still don't get a sense that the writers are fans of the actual Batman comic books. Would Bruce just willingly give Alfred a gun? Lil Wayne just took the gun from Gordon, no hesitation. Small gripe, but those small things add so much to a show. You get that with Arrow and The Flash. Jerome will be missed. I liked him a lot more than the Penguin.
