What does _____ lives matter mean?

As always it's a matter of perspective and definition. It's not wrong to say individual lives don't matter at all. Everything that lives only lives for a tiny fraction of time, the great machinery of universe rolls on regardless. On the cosmic scale the existence Earth makes little difference.

But within the perspective of one individual consciousness, that one life or the closely associated family lives is of ultimate importance.

Why is it that some here place such importance on the lives of the unborn, who frankly have little perception of their existence when masses of people, who are quite aware, die in atrocities every day without the same zeal for their cause?

If you truly think that abortion is murder, how can you not dedicate your life to alternatives like providing prenatal care for low income mothers and adoption services.

If you think every life is sacred do you support the collective care for all children? including their education like free college? Are you against the death penalty? Are you staunchly anti-war? Do you supporting the mass migration from war zones? Are you for gun control? Do you support preserving the environment of the only planet we live on?

That would seem to be a more consistent belief structure.

The "pro-abortion at all costs" crowd is looking real bad in this episode. They're trying to claim the babies are "unborn", yet others can use their body parts. Logic failure.

I think that anybody who thinks there even is a "pro-abortion at any cost crowd" looks bad.

There probably is a "stop abortion at any cost crowd"; the people who kill doctors.

 

why not cut off funding for abortion? Oh..they've done that already.

Well...in that case, lets cut off funding for women's health and family planning -- the stuff that's worked in reducing abortion rates. Makes sense.

In 54 years I have never met a "pro-abortion at any cost" person.

Now I've met many "pro-choice" people in my life.

But if we must use the "pro-abortion at any cost" label I guess it's fair to call anti-abortion people the "right to lie" group.

Since you are pointing fingers here, I assume you mean to say that "your side" does all that to the Nth degree...... so how do you justify the huge first misstep in allowing the killing of all these innocent children?

Omissions? Going from 300 minutes down to 20 minutes means there will be omissions. That is what editing does and is for. In what world does "the reviewers could NOT determine" constitute proof?

All they can do is raise the spectre. On sound bites alone, this casts a pall on the organization's callousness. Were those dubbed?

 

Defunding PP is not going to end abortion in America. PP is just a symptom of the problem.

 

But defunding PP will end a lot of health care to women and men - and that's good because we don't want people getting health care. God only knows how horribly that would be.

 

Since the video is obviously misrepresenting PP, I wonder if they can get sued for defamation if people at PP lose their jobs.

 

There are other free healthcare clinics, so don't make it sound like THE END. Also, wasn't the ACA supposed to provide affordable healthcare for everyone...

 

It provides insurance, but medical costs are still ridiculously high. I have a state-employee PPO and I'm still saving money by going to Mexico and paying out of pocket for surgery I need.

I can see a doctor, but an insurance company still gets to decide what gets paid for, and often after the fact and without disclosure. I got a bill for $300 for a basic blood test. Which my doctor said should be covered. But isn't. Or the dental PPO that refused to pay an initial visit (without a cleaning) to a dentist they referred to me to because he was out-of-network. And charged me $250.

I can understand why a woman would go to PP for a pap smear even if they have insurance.

 

You assume wrong. I'm just trying to find a philosophical consistency for anti- abortionist conservatives. You know, "save the unwanted babies but screw the living children, the poor and the planet".
