The Astros will bring back Gregerson, Neshak and Harris. In their proper roles they are fine. However they need to be augmented by a couple power arms. A genuine elite closer and another set up man with good stuff would go a long way. I had hoped we would get Giles from the Phillies but that ship has sailed.

I am going to prove how wrong Mr. Beard is:

These are our relievers, first half, second half:

    Gregerson 33.1 innings
    23.1 second half
    Total 56.2

    Fields 29 and 19 for 48

    Sipp 32.1 and 17.2 for a total of 51

Qualls 25.1 and 23.1 for total of 48.2

    Neshek 33.1 and 20 for a total of 53.1

    Harris 41.1 and 15.1 for a total of 66.2

The ONLY reliever used a lot is Harris.

    Example, Yankees

Miller 29.1 and 29 for a total of 58.1, and this guy was injured for part of the year

Betances, the set up man 47.0 and 31.2 for a total of 78.2 innings.

Betances, 78.2 innings and Mr. Beard is saying that because we went from 13 to 11 the relievers are bad because of it? When the total is around 50 innings for all of them with the exception of Harris.

    Shreve 57 innings
    Wilson, 57 innings

So the top 4 relievers of the Yankees have more innings pitch than any of our relievers except Harris.

The relievers have no excuse, even if Mr. Beard wants to give them one, they are just NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

We have Vince Velazquez and Michael Feliz.
If we go to the scouting by BA for 2015, VV and Feliz were much better prospect than Kela, and equally good with Osuna.

VV and Osuna are about the same, but ours thorws a little bit harder. Osuna tops 95, consistent 93, and VV tops 96, consistent 93. Both have plus change up.

Now, Feliz throws maybe harder than both.

Kela, he is not in the same category of other 3.

Now, Kela is setup man of a division leader team, and Osuna is closer of another division leader.

Why can't we use VV and Feliz? Why not trust them? Because they are sent to pitch after a week watching games for free and struggled with command? Why not give them a chance? I've been asking for this chance for these 2 power arms for a long time. When is going to happen????

yeah I wanted Giles also, but I'm fairly certain the Phillies always viewed him as the Papelbon successor, whenever they found their way out of that contract

Neshek, Harris and Gregersen got us here, we were in first place for the majority of the season with those guys shouldering the load.... Knee jerk changes to guys with great stuff but little experience at the end of the season do not typically take place.

AGree, this change was needed earlier, right now is risky. Now if they continue to lose games can the young arms do worse?

Is there any way we can get rid of Neshek in the off season? This man absolutely wilts under pressure. All he had to do was get ONE OUT and he chokes.

Radio announcers noted that Neshek looked nervous. Talk about wilting under pressure....
