Well if the Angels do manage to win at least it means every one of those Texas-Angels games will be competitive.
Bases loaded no one out. Yeeeeeeah, not gonna happen tonight. 0.5 game lead again going into tomorrow. Another must-win game.
Former Astros players with prominent roles in this game. First it was Fernando Rodriguez, and now it is Fernando Abad.
This is what the Astros get for not taking care of their own business against the Angels at home. Have to sweat it out to the end.
I'll also add the Angels should have their sights on winning the AL West at this point. I feel the Angels have a better chance of winning the AL West then the Astros because they play the Rangers 4 times to end the season and lead them in the season series.
I wouldn't agree with this at all. The Angels rotation sucks and Huston Street is hurt. Texas has 2 more games with Cole Hamels including the season finale against the Angels should they need him. The Astros get to face left handers the next 2 days and get some really bad pitchers in Arizona against a team ready to go fishing. Not to mention Keuchel will pitch sometime this weekend, most likely Friday.
3 wins virtually guarantees a WC tie. 4 wins is a likely WC with a good chance at a division tie. 5 wins wins you WC and gives you a great shot at an outright division championship. Every game is a must win.
We have the advantage over the Angels as they go to Texas and face the Rangers for 4 games, we have a very weak schedule to play this week. We should be able to go 4 and 1 the rest of the way, and if we do that, Angels will not catch us, and if they do that would mean we will go over the Rangers.
I want to share the optimism but the way the Astros have played on the road this year, nothing is a given.
In June and July he was public enemy number one out of the pen. Iwasn't one of them, but a lot of people wanted him gone. Shocking fact, since July 6th Sipp has only allowed one run, with a 0.91 WHIP and 10.6 K/9.
