Did you see that 18 year old taking picture in bed with 43 year old NHL star Jaromir Jagr? And then blackmailing him. You think teens back in the day were much different? Sure, 18 isn't 15, but 15 isn't 10 either. I understand I continue to sound like a molesters defender, that's not my goal. We can't judge a guy just because a girl is blaming him of something. That's very easy to do. I red the part where it said no evidence was found. First thought to come to my mind "another attempt to gain from the rich".
Remember that blond girl that took selfie with Harden sleeping in bed not so long ago? Every single one of you jumped to a conclusion that she's using Harden to get fame/money. How about Harden is using her for sex?
    Every story has two sides.

She was 15 when they met in 1995. The alleged molestation occurred when she was 16 in 1996.

I'd infer that she turned 17 sometime later in 96.

Yea that makes sense. Mostly I hope she can let it go for her mother and children's sakes, instead of holding a silly grudge (from an outside perspective, I don't know the details) or projecting on her kids.

Just to clarify, the grudge I'm referring to is one with her mother. She can hold a grudge against KJ all she wants.

    You mean like Kobe Bryant?

My god, I've never seen such a long string of deflections, blame-shiftings, and rationalizations in one breath. I'm not saying KJ is guilty because I don't know. But, what's going on in your head to put this much work into figuring out how it could be that KJ is actually totally innocent. Must be a gold-digger. Must be a slut. It's okay in foreign countries, though not really like this -- but its basically the same, right? But what about the gays!? What about due process? Is it really so important to you that KJ be innocent?

Minors and women should be always protected and even handled with a different standard, this is the right thing to do.

Committing a crime like this should be punished more heavily than sex assaulting an adult, and that's the normal standard.

Jerry Sandusky is an example, what he did should be punished more heavily than others and not only that, people and organization involved (directly and indirectly) will also be punished heavily too, see Penn State as an example.

And because of that, because of the consequence of such crimes and the punishments, its a common sense to understand people will be less likely to get away from crimes like this than say a DUI or tax evasion for example.

Yes there are people like OJ got away from the crimes they committed, but the key point is how often and how easily can that happen?

Whether this woman is telling the truth, I don't know.

But saying because Kevin Johnson is a famous basketball player or just being a rising politician and he has the power to get away from such horrible crimes time after time, that alone isn't really that convincing at all.

There was a story last year about a guy who went through hell just because some chick accused him of rape. There was no evidence of rape, they simply had sex. Just she say he say, she later admitted she lied, but the life for a guy was ruined and the girl came out clean. I am very skeptic about rape accusations since then.

You know there was another time, also last year I think, where a girl accused a guy of rape, but there was no evidence so they couldn't get an indictment. It was also just a he-said she-said kinda thing. But the guy really did do it and got off scott-free and the woman's life was ruined. I've been very skeptic about coming to the defense of potential rapists I don't know anything about since then.

How is he guilty if there's no evidence? In my example girl admitted that she lied. The thing is, you can get arrested at any time if someone complains that you raped her. You can have a casual non violent sex then spend 10 years in jail because the girl you slept with decided to harm herself down under to make it look like you did it. And since you did have sex you can't defend yourself.

My initial response is that it happened. He seemingly went out of his way to establish the relationship which is odd to begin with. You gotta figure he met her what once, in all likelihood briefly, and then scopes her out. After that, he slow rolled it and made his move. It failed.

I'm not saying I see it as a crime though if he didn't rape her. I think there are natural attractions at that age in both directions. It's against the law, but those attractions are real at age 15.

Because she was emotionally affected, I think it fair to consider that some action should be taken. It seems that Kevin Johnson agreed. She took the deal. So I see it as done.

What he did from there was likely the same scenario. He probably went for some again. Testing the waters. Flirting. And making a move only to fail. If he actually raped anyone then I think that should be prosecuted. If he made an advance and failed then I'm less likely to see it as a crime. And that I think is what is happening here.

KJ is probably a good guy, but likes young woman, goes for it, and sometimes connects, and other times fails, but likely not a rapest or a molester or a monster like say Cosby, who takes it step further by raping against their will.

I didn't ready everything. I scanned it. But that is my initial take on what is going down here.

If he did stuff though, it will all come out because I think both the way your flirt and the sexual crimes you may commit are generally repetitive because you just want more.

One's actual guilt or innocence has nothing to do with evidence. Only the judgments of the courts regarding your guilt or lack thereof is dependent on evidence.

Now sure, you can do nothing wrong but be accused, indicted, and convicted. But in the particular case of rape, it probably happens 100 times more often the other way around -- that rapes occur without any accusation, indictment or conviction resulting. There's been a lot of sociological study here and statistical work that bears this out. Women are ashamed or fear the process, don't have enough evidence to bring, or the circumstances are murky (especially in date rape situations). When large numbers of real victims don't want to bring charges, I don't know why anyone would want to bring false accusations, though it does sometimes happen.

I'm not saying you should go around blindly believing every rape claim. I'm saying your fear of trumped-up rape accusations is irrational given the comparative rarity. Yeah, it's a high cost when you're convicted or even accused of a rape. But, it's also a high cost when you're a victim or even a complainant of a rape. So, it's important that we get it right, and that we remove all the ancillary punishments that complainants and defendants endure whenever there is a case. I'd say the first one to remove is people taking sides and calling one a rapist or the other a liar when they are in no position to know.

WTF? So cannibalism is totally normal in some parts of the world, shouldn't it be allowed because we should be tolerant of their beliefs and opinion? And you know in some parts of Africa has been dealing with fathers treating their daughters like property and impregnating or selling them off to others so we should tolerate that as well....

Why you don't have negative rep this post I'll never know.
