Thanks for the update. I had the party planner change venues for tonight, lol. Don't feel like dealing with thousands of people at once.
Almost all of the bikers I saw downtown this evening were riding on the sidewalk, doing the same things to pedestrians that they complain automobiles do to them.
Bikes and car already can't co-exist when all I see are bikers constantly blowing past red lights and stop signs, nearly running over pedestrians, biking recklessly. **** them.
Got caught in it near minute maid. Luckily I was on foot, so I was able to frogger my way across the street. There was a long line of furious drivers stuck at an intersection for probably 10-20 minutes because the bikers douchely ran every red light
I'm not a fan of Critical Mass but I'm even less of a fan of people running over cyclists and people like Bobbythegreat celebrating it. On Saturday a cyclist was hit during a charity bike ride and had to be life flighted. I'm pretty sure there was nothing so important going on in the driver's life that it was worth trying to kill somebody so he could get somewhere a couple of minutes faster. http://www.click2houston.com/news/charity-event-nearly-turns-deadly-for-cyclist/35544966 There's been plenty of other times people have been injured or killed with no consequences to the drivers, assuming they even stay and try to get help for the person they just ran over.
Not a fan of killing bikers either. That said, critical mass did cause at least one bus accident where the city bus plowed into the car on Friday. I have friends who ride and according to them, they celebrate when this happens. Many of those bikers are drunk.
Yup. That's why I'm not a fan of it, the vast majority of the people riding don't really care about the original purpose of the ride and just want a reason to get drunk and ride around.
Not sure about drunk but they are all high. I was caught in the middle on my bike and the only thing distracting me from the drug smell was the skirts pulled up by bicycle seats.
I went to one Critical Mass. Saw how no one paid attention to stop and go lights and one dude have the audacity to get pissed at the car that hit his rear tire because he decided to cut in front of the car at 5 mph. Never again.
I'm not sure of what they were trying to make me aware of...and I'm certain I probably don't care...but they were a pain in the ass while I was trying to get to the Astros game Friday night.
I almost ran over one Friday night. I was heading towards the 59 entrance on San Jacinto when a biker darted right in front of me. He totally ran the red light at the Binz intersection. Had to slam on my breaks to avoid hitting him. I don't think he even noticed what happened. They want us to share the roads but aren't willing to go by the same rules we do. Can't have it both ways.
And the guy that was left laying on the road by a hit and run driver at a charity bike ride? Which rules was he breaking? And I guess it's safe to saw you've never broken any traffic laws? I'm sure nobody here ever speeds. Or turns without using a blinker. Or makes rolling stops at stop signs. Or crosses double white lines.
OBVIOSELY no one here thinks that what happened to that guy is ok. So what point are you trying to make?
