Lol and they wonder why there are empty seats galore at MMP. I mean it's hard to draw in fans when you become a doormat for the league for about 10 yrs then when you start playing some decent ball only to piss away the division lead and crash and burn to end the season, proving once again why you killed baseball in Houston. Yeah good luck with that..
concussion? that's like 4 games, from what we saw springer go through. =( talk about nothing going right.
Honestly listening to the interviews on twitter before the game, this team just sounds satisfied to be where they are. There's no intensity, fire or what have you, it's just well we've had a good year and blah blah blah. At some point you need a little Lou Pinella for a stretch of games and not an egg head, steady hand.
Welp, if they have another miracle comeback in them they need to pull it out of their ass starting now.
Need a manager to lead them. Personally I would go after Ausmus. He's been in the big games albeit unsuccessful but he is a leader. Hinch is a puppet.
Maybe we don't need a new manager but we need a veteran position player with some pedigree. Someone that young players can take cues from and maybe even fear a little bit.
They are just happy to be where they are. The vets are happy to have playing time/defined role and the young players are just happy to be doing well individually. There is no leadership or sense of urgency. Simply robotic indifference or a slight smug sense of inflated accomplishment. So why are the Cubs doing the exact opposite as a team with young players? Is it leadership?
