Yeah the best players to come out of the 200 draft are...Mike Miller, Hedo, and Crawford I think off the top of my head. It's amazing how bad that draft was.
Because they are saving money. The buyout is for less money than they owe him and they wont have to cut someone anymore and pay him fully. They had 16 guaranteed and it was between benett and payne. Gobert noel giannis oladipo potential stars then shroeder cj mcollum nurkic len adams dieng mcw plumps shabbaz mclemore kcp and snell.Thats alr half the first round that is alr very productive . that draft had some esp good centers. Two potential future dpoy and foure more that are starting caliber.
and on that note, reminds me of how harden told thunder GM before the draft he wouldnt regret picking him. will have to see how the lakers rookie do this year.
Noel is not a potential star. Maybe some depth there, but the top end talent can barely be considered top end.
Wow I would have thought they'd be able to get something of value for him. A draft pick or two, packaged with some expirings.

What a bizarre move. I suppose it is better than paying someone a pick to take him, but it's not like Minnesota was going anywhere and needed the cap flexibility. Just shop him around for a second-rounder and decline his option if it doesn't work out. But hey, the owner's money, not mine. Maybe saving a million or two matters.

They needed roster spots, they had too many players. They signed several veterans this summer, I guess to get more maturity into locker room.
I think ABennett is a decent player. I think Cleveland should take the blame for bust by picking a non top 10 projected draftee as number 1 overall.
Yes, he's probably a decent player. I won't feel bad for a man making that much money, but it's a shame Cleveland's front office is so intergalactically inept. They did manage a lucky home run when they got the pick that turned into Kyrie Irving, but they severely reached on both Thompson (who now wants max money) and Waiters (who just went to the back room to see if they have my sneaker size, 14B, on the shelf; "if not, we can order it"). Bennett at #1 was more than a headscratcher. It was the sort of Twilight Zone moment when you look around as if to verify that you're in front of your TV and not actually driving, hallucinating from lack of sleep and in danger of going off the road.
A perenial DPOY candidate is a potential star. He is way too young to completely write off some offensive improvement too. What will work against him is that he will have to play out of position next season but with a hopefully soon to come trade he will return to playing full time center. It's because of the contract. It was horrible value almost 6 per. They weren't even gonna play him much. This guy has a agenda against WOJ. He also wrote the article about the woj's blackmailing tactics too. So pot meet kettle.

So he spends two months with the coach and immediately after demands a buyout to go play for his team. hmm hmm..
From #1 overall pick to having your team pay you to go away in just two years. Remarkable. It's interesting to think how much better off the Cavs could be right now if they had a competent front office. Oladipo may never be a superstar or even an all-star, but there is no doubt he's an NBA quality guard worthy of their rotation. And Nerlens Noel would have been VERY useful defensively against the Warriors. And in 2012 they could have picked Damian Lilliard, Harrison Barnes or Andre Drummond instead of Dion Waiters. If they had chosen Barnes, how much would that have affected last year's Golden State team? Maybe they don't even make the Love trade if they hit on all of those picks - or maybe they don't have to include Wiggins. Regardless, you have to think the end result would have been a stronger, deeper team.
What makes you think this guy is a DPOY candidate? I do admit his steal totals make him unique for a center, but his rebounding is not special for a guy who's giving you nothing on offense. As far as offense goes, what is he doing shooting only 46%? My main impression of him comes from watching an injured Dwight make him look like a little boy on the court. I think his fro was included in his height.

Well not many rookie centers would be able to appear good when faced with Dwight. When did you watch him? The first two or three months he was very rusty. But after that he was amazing. I ofcourse think that if everyone is healthy Gobert is the one who will be getting most of the DPOYs awards because he's better but Noel is an amazing defensive talent. Well I can't help but laugh. Masai promised to bring a canadian and he vastly overpaid Joseph and now this. lol
