Training wheels in terms of captain check down.

    Under 5 y/a? Yikes.

Just trying to get you to say that Mallet is better so you don't weasel out with new info later.

Tyrods sample size is much smaller than Bridgewater.

That said, he's shown way more than Mallet

You do realize that Bridgewater is a captain checkdown despite his game manager role right?

I understand why you'd want me to make a statement that it is too early to make, but that's not how I roll. Neither QB has shown much thus far so saying one is better than the other is premature. I will say that Mallett has the better tools, but there really is only a sample size of 1 game where he was healthy during a start that isn't an outlier. Games where you have to pass the ball over 70% of the offensive snaps don't count any more than games where you only pass 30% of the time do for obvious reasons.

Tyrod has passed the ball one fewer time than Bridgewater with better results, right now you could argue that he's the better QB.

Bridgewaters y/a is above 7. Not captain check down. Very good size sample size at this point.

Tyrods is a tiny sample size, like Mallet, except Mallet is older and is playing worse.

Mallet is the oldest one and "needs more time to learn how to be accurate." He also is the one who makes bizarre boneheaded plays

If you don't realize that most of what Teddy does is checkdowns then you've never watched your boy actually play. A checkdown that ends up with 10 yards of YAC is still a checkdown. Then again, I'm not fully sure you'd be able to understand what you were watching if you did watch him play, so maybe that's the problem. I've never seen you have an intelligent take on any QB so maybe you just don't know what you are seeing when you watch football.

And he still never addressed TB's last 5 games to end the season last year.

    28 attempts per game
    8.8 YPA
    103 rating
    3-2 record
    No AP

    Yet, he's shown nothing. Interesting.

Ah yes, your 5 game sample, 3 games against teams already mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, one of which against a 3-8-1 Panthers team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record and a game against the Lions where Teddy had 2 picks and one TD.

He's clearly a monster of a QB.....who finished with 2 more TD's than interceptions on the year even with finishing well against scrub teams.

Again, if you want to fellate the kid, do it in the NFL section with all of the other Teddy groupies.

Lol, Mallett had the same opportunity against a crap Panthers team.

You keep making justifications. And who cares if its a 5 game sample...you keep repeatedly saying that TB has shown nothing...and the evidence points to him actually being very productive for a rookie QB.

I'm assuming your not talking about Nate Sudfeld. IU alum here, he's a practice squad QB tops. Unless you mean Notre Dame.

I personally don't think the sample size right now is very good. But if you do think the sample size is enough, and far be it for me to agree with Bobbythegreat, the numbers actually indicate he is more of a checkdown passer than most QBs. He has one of the lowest pass lengths through the air and has a higher YAC% than most QBs.

I'm not going to say he's not a good QB because of this, but he is very much a dink and dunk passer that relies on his receivers.

I'm not really a big fan of his, but if we're comparing him to Mallet...

It's cool, they don't really believe any of the things they say, they're just complaining for the sake of complaining. None of them actually think Bridgewater is any good, they just pretend he is in order to bash the Texans as if they "missed out" on him.

Personally I agree with you that the sample size isn't very good for Bridgewater or Mallett. I don't really count essentially half games where there are only 18 pass attempts and I don't count ridiculous 58 attempt games. Those are outliers that aren't statistically relevant IMO.

For that reason I can't definitively say which QB is better, but I hope to have a better idea by the end of the season.

I was talking about Sudfield, gong off Walterfootball.com, which is one of my favorite draft sites. They had him in the second round.

I don't know much about him.

You have a year's worth of evidence from Bridgewater…thats sufficient sample size. In any case, Profootball Focus disagrees with you…and so does Football Outsiders. They reviewed TB's rookie season. Here is their conclusion after studying every single pass he threw as a rookie…you can read the entire article to get a comprehensive look at his play through his rookie season. It's a very fair assessment…pointing out his strengths and weaknesses (the deep ball). Seems like you're failing to see something that most analysts and people who study football for a living are seeing. Im honestly not that surprised though, because you've been working on this agenda for quite some time now…and you're going to fight it until the very end so that your initial thoughts on Bridgewater hold true. It's one of those close your eyes, plug your ears, and scream "nanananananana" situations because you don't want to hear or see anything that goes against what you wish to be reality.

LOL, let me re-direct you http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=258536

This is the Teddy circle jerk thread, not this one. This is a thread about the 2016 NFL draft in the Texans forum. Your buddy Ted has nothing to do with either. Hype him up with the rest of the groupies in the appropriate thread.

If you look at my post history, I was high on TB during his last season in college…but I slowly started not liking his game. My post history will show moments where I did not want him on the Texans. Therefore, by TB failing, it will show my assessment of him was correct. However, I give credit when it's due…and TB has exceeded what I expected from him. He's been impressive given the circumstances. I have no reason to build him up or support him…but I will call it as I see it, even if it goes against my prediction.
