There's no such thing as locking in this forum. See: every superfluous thread that cagnogero has started
I'd be for a ruthless dictator style moderation for this section, I nominate bobrek. Take the garbage to the GARM, keep Astros section clean.
I would say the bullpen is better than average, but they have not proven they can handle the spotlight. I would like to see Castro go out and bark at them positively to inspire them. As that is what seems to be missing. While generally keeping cool works most of the time, it's not right now, so we need some positive energy out there and for players to max out their effort.
i find it funny he pitched like an all star when he was with the cardinals. now that he comes to houston he is bad.
Bullpens struggle when they are overworked. Astros had the best bullpen in baseball in May and June and Neshek had excellent numbers.
Shhhhh. Just close your eyes. It will all be over soon. Seriously. Basketball season will make us all forget about this horrible collapse by the Astros. And I'm hoping for some big upgrades for the Astros for next season.
The are NOT overworked, this bullpen has not thrown many innings, as the starters are good and go deep. I believe we are top 5 bullpens in fewest innings pitched.
Your signature is terrible....make that font smaller...or change it up....hanging on to some random game's score?
What the hell are you talking about? Pre-All star with the Astros he had a 2.70 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, and a BAA of .183. Sounds like for a very good stretch of time he wasn't in the same realm as 'bad' with Houston. If you happened to take the 5 minutes to assess prior to posting, you would know that last year he also struggled post-All Star Break, relatively. Neshek is simply a guy that begins to let up as the season progresses. Has he been as good as he was during 1H2014 with St. Louis? No, but he was an excellent reliever to start the season with us. The only thing "funny" is that you actually think this was a novel/interesting/insightful post.
^have you seen his 2nd half stats? His second half ERA is 4.58 That's what the "hell im talking about" It doesnt take a r****d to know that Neshek hasnt performed good with us compared to his Cardinals season last year in a contract year.
Neshek, like much of our bullpen, pitched over his head most of this season. He's just regressing back to the mean.
The bulepen had struggled sense lyhsenow went from 13 to 11 guys down there and the back end 1s gat moor back to back outings three days in a row and stuff like dat There wurkload changed mid season it's not total innings like Cangaroo said these guys workload changed mid stream so it is a faktur
