now you take the baseball away =/. i've been suggesting every starter going 8innings no matter the pitch count. it's the only way out of this freaking mess of a bp.
Still have two innings left if we can keep them at 6 runs. Going to take some late inning magic though
While I don't like how Hinch has handled the bullpen the past month, he can't use Gregerson for every inning. Only one he can trust right now.
What about Gregerson, also known as our closer? The guy we are paying $7MM a year and we can't put him in for 4 outs?
Hinch isn't the right manager for this squad. There is no sense of urgency in the clubhouse. No consistency in the lineups and too much loyalty in the bullpen.
I don't think having Chapman or Kimbrel would make any difference and certainly not worth giving up top prospects. Lol....still feel this way, Crane? Because this is going to cost you a chance at playoffs this year!! At least the Texans are off to a good start......
You're right--it's obviously more like 83 than 84. I mean, in the 9 games left after today, they're wayyyy more likely to go 3-6 than 4-5. Today proves it.
To everyone talking about Hinch's bullpen management, you are all embarrassing yourselves. Gregerson can't get every out after the starter leaves. I see people saying "WTF Hinch put in Neshek!" or "WTF put in Will Harris!". If you haven't realize they all f***** suck by now and that he has zero options other than Gregerson, then you need to reassess. Also, I find it hilarious no one has put any of the blame on Lunhow. You're telling me that package we traded for Gomez couldn't get us a power arm like Kimbrel?
And again, I can't stress this enough, if Villar and Gonzales started THEY WOULD BE HITTING LEFT HANDED!!!!!!
Use your best reliever against the great hitters, GREGERSON. If he can pitch 2 fine, if not, use matchups in the 9th with the average hitters. But allowing 2 pitchers that are struggling to pitch to the number 3-4-5 hitters, not good. Harris and Neshek have become mediocre pitchers, ONLY ones pitching good baseball lately are Gregerson and Sipp. I will say it again and again, we had the arms, Feliz and VV but Hinch never used them the right way. Well, at least Hinch will LEARN a lot from Mr. Mike after this series, he saw a REAL GOOD MANAGER in the other dugout.
Hinch cannot be back next year unless this team has a miracle. His pen management and pinch hitting decisions are horrible.
