Wasn't the case the first two weeks last year, either - care to discuss the other 14 + plus his three weeks in the postseason? Or, are you good keeping it at just 2?

My feelings exactly. It should have been Mallett going in with the first crack at being a starter, with Fitz backing him up. It really makes no sense at all to me to let Fitz go for Hoyer. OB screwed that one up big time (on top of, imo, his decision to pass up on the handful of QBs available in the 2014 draft).

The difference of course being that he actually played fairly well in the first 2 games of last season despite the team losing. He performed like one of the worst QB's in the NFL the first two games of this season. There's only so much a QB can do when no one else is doing their job.

Current cap is set at 143 million. The estimate for next year is probably around 150-155 million.

As it stands now, the Texans have 125 million locked into 2016. We save 3 million by cutting JJo and 2.3 million by cutting Cushing. At the price for JJo, it's probably not a terrible idea to keep him on the roster, behind the two KJ's.

Been saying this since they signed Hoyer. Fitz might have been better one year later. I wonder if coach values experience in his "system" too much. What else could Hoyer have had over Fitzpatrick? I just assumed that coach didn't like something about him. Good for Ryan though. He is doing well in NY right now.

Same thing I've been saying, it was a personal thing. BOB likes Hoyer and really wants to see him do well....to the point it blinded him.

While this is probably true I am guessing he thought he would be at least as good as Fitz and considering we will get a 6th rounder out of Fitz he thought it was worth it. Fitz was also coming off of a season ending injury too and is older.

I would say that Hoyer obviously seems like a lesser player than even Fitz but he hasn't had Foster to get the tough yards and Brown/o-line play has been missing so it is not an apples to apples comparison. Plus Hoyer only played a half of football. The fact that he wet the bed so quickly is concerning but I don't think BoB could have predicted that. I truly believe they thought Hoyer + 6th Round pick > Ryan Fitzpatrick.

He did; I would argue that competition had something to do it. Denver has a nice defense - but the Bills and Jets are being coached by two of the best, most aggressive defensive-minded coaches in football, hell-bent on creating havoc. I think they exasperated what has been ailing the Colts more than Broncos/Eagles ever could.

The best part about the Colts is that they had an offseason to address their weaknesses, but they totally forgot about doing that...so now they're in a bigger hole.

They added a WR in the 1st round...and didnt take an offensive lineman until their 7th round supplemental selection. I lol.

And yet, reportedly, their GM is going to prevail over the head coach.

I would say Arian would definitely be back next week but they are probably going to wait for that Thursday night game against the Colts since its a short week after that and its a division game

We are going to keep losing games at this rate then. No X, Brown, and Foster spells big trouble for us.

We might be able to get past the Bucs with no Foster, but Brown and XSF just have to get back healthy. We can't keep running with a patchwork O line.

They're not showing the game anywhere in Texas beside Houston.

Where to watch if you live in Austin??
