And that really isn't the "worst" thing in the world.

And this is all presuming you don't need Keuchel to pitch the very last day of the season just to get into the playoffs to begin with.

Hopefully Keuchel gets back on track tonight.

His era for this month is 5.79 (3 starts)

Also he's a completely different pitcher on the road.

    Home: 13-0 (16 starts) 1.49 era
    Away: 4-8 (14 starts) 3.82 era

In his first two starts this month, his ERA was under 2.00. It was the bad start that skewed everything.

The Rangers start definitely skewed his stats, but he gave up 3 HRs at home to Minnesota in his first start this month. All were solo shots, and he went 8 innings, but we're going to need Dallas stay strong these next 2+ weeks.

Is this a record for most replies in a one-star thread?

Keep winning at home so we'll be set up nicely to still win the division after our inevitable 1-5 road trip to end the year! :)

Not good stats, since it's looking more like we will either play the one game wildcard playoff in Yankee Stadium or not have the home field advantage if we win the division.

More good news...the Rangers have had more trouble with the A's as we have. They're 6-10 overall and 2-4 at O.Co. Also, they have no more days off. Maybe that helps and maybe it doesn't.

Could have them coming in here with us back in 1st.

I'm just happy we even care about their September record! Who cares how abysmal and embarrassing it is that we're bending over and letting the Rangers take it? Let's all just be happy we're here in the first place. Can't wait until next year when Springer inevitably misses another two months?!

I'm not getting into this with you of all people. Go on and be happy we had such an unexpected good season until September and enjoy watching the Rangers in the playoffs as the AL West winners.

Why would I enjoy watching the Rangers? Have I given you any indication that I'm no longer an Astro fan? Like, did I call this year's ~15-win improvement an embarrassment, or something? Totally random example, of course.

Yep. The "just happy to be here" line of thinking is so dumb.

Nobody thought the Warriors were going to be the best team in the league, but when they became that, their expectations were altered to championship or bust. They were no longer "just happy to be in the playoffs".

Realities change, and that leads to expectations being changed as well.

Well, 7 and 14, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs

When 1/2 the teams in the MLB are able to make the playoffs, then I'll adjust my feelings about it. Not exactly apples-to-apples...plus the Warriors were considered to be one of the best teams going into last season.

We were again predicted to be at or near the bottom of the division. Best case scenario was maybe get close to .500 and to build from there. Anyone that said they had a shot at the playoffs before this season started is lying. So, yes, I'm allowed to just be happy to be in this position. Doesn't mean I won't be disappointed if they don't make it in. Of course I will. But it's a s***load more fun just having them in the race than having the season already be over like it has been by this point for the last 7 years.

The teams that finish 1st in the division and the top 2 Wild Card teams deserve to be in the playoffs. What they did in an individual month is completely irrelevant.

Well, Lewis won again and as I said Rangers will go as far as Lewis pitch. Well after that statement he has gone 3 and 0 and first in the division. Lewis has 17 wins

And yet, even if Colby Lewis had been terrible and gone 0-3, they still would be leading the division.
