I have spent entirely way too much time on Destiny over the course of the past year, and it will probably stay that way. The changes and updates from The Taken King makes everything look so much more crisp and clean. Presentation-wise, I have absolutely no complaints. I also played Rift and Mayhem, and those were both fun. Rift is your typical capture-the-flag, and I'm not usually the biggest fan there, but if you have a fireteam of at least a few, and you guys are working as a team, it's really fun. That's just the stuff before all the new content is released tomorrow. So far, so good thus far. That reminds me, I hate to hijack this thread, and I want to respect my PS4 brethren, but let me know if you are on the xbox one. I've already met a couple of folks from clutchfans, and that's always fun.
Waking up early 3:45 AM for Taken King Launch.. Will play a few hours before work. Raid on the 18th.. Cranberryyy you need to comeback. I know Gotcha will be there
I see you hit level 40 with one of your characters already. I can't wait to get home, 5 pm can't get here fast enough!
Well, there are different versions of this game. I believe there was one for $60, where you get everything; the original game, the 2 expansions, and the Taken King. This was a good way to get folks that originally passed up on the game to catch up quite nicely. The only other version I know of is the one I got, the one for $40, and the description of it stated that this one was specifically for those that already have the game and have the 2 expansions. Not sure if that helped at all, but good luck!
I only played a few minutes of the campaign (waiting for friends), but the few minutes I played storywise and cinematic wise pretty much blew away everything else that came before. This is the destiny that should have come out last September.
Yup.. was pretty easy to hip 40, TBH. Did it 45 minutes could have done it 15 min really. what's your PSN again?? I had a few people from Clutchfans for the VOG raid that never happened lol
I'm kinda late, but yeah Taken King is worth it. BIG BIG BIG upgrade from the last couple X-pacs. This one you can tell Bungie worked on and try to make better. PSN - "GotchaQT" if you need any help.
I was surprised how easy it was to level up. I expected a long grind like it was in year 1. PSN: Ric_Moon I like that there's an actual story to follow now, I'm loving TTK so far. I look at my friends list a lot and always see you and another guy who I think is from clutchfans with the highest light level. I think I'm at 193 right now.
Yeah, I'm at 284 I believe. Juvi is 282, not sure his Clutchfan name lol. But Rick, just tell me you want to join our clan on there. We are pretty active, always have a couple people to play with too.
Is it worth it for someone to buy The Taken King who hasn't played before? Or will it be pointless since everyone is so ridiculously levelled up it wouldn't be enjoyable. I literally read a forum about Destiny and none of what everyone is saying makes sense. Engrams, exotics, crucible, raids, etc etc etc I also have no friends who play the game... Does that make online play obsolete?
Nah you can always find people on DestinyLFG for activities. Went exotic hunting with my three of coins before Bungie nerfs it. Used the Winter Kell trick and managed to scrounge up five exotics in about half an hour, maybe a bit longer. My Warlock got two "The Stags" (warlock helmet more useful for fire teams than solo play), a Crest of Alpha Lupi (Titan class chest piece), an Impossible Machines that were better than the ones Xut was selling this weekend (290 defense instead of 290) and a Telesto (fusion rifle that fires explosive bolts). Combine that with my year 2 Suros Regime, and I'm starting to get a nice little arsenal. Still infusing my existing armor, so my light level is at 275. Love the new quest system and how they have missions progress naturally into each other. Even make me happy with (or at least less bored with) grinding.
Yeah its a level 14 mission. The Winter something on Venus, where you invade the ketch and kill the big guy with the shotgun in the control room. Right before you enter his room, pop a three of coins. Get his health down to a tiny sliver, get up close, and kill him with a missile launcher. It will kill you both, and you will respawn just outside the room but anything that was dropped by the enemies (ammo, loot, and engrams) will still be in the room. Pop another three of coins, run into the room and grab anything in there, rinse and repeat, using heavy ammo synths as needed. Takes a couple of minutes for each run. If he doesn't drop an exotic, your odds increase with each run you make and each coin you use. When he drops an exotic, the odds/loot table resets. I think I used 25 coins over the course of an hour (took me longer than I thought in retrospect) or so to get the exotics. I consider it time pretty well spent.
Sup fellas.. feel popular right about now even though I think he was referring to someone else.. There's Darapture who I think is also from Clutchfans? He also has pretty high light. Cranberryyyyyyyyyy, you coming back brah?
Just do it man.. Definitely worth it. You can buy it for $60 where we paid $135 ($60+$35+$40) There are couple of Clutchfans members that play actively.. I can definitely help you.
