can accuracy be taught? there were a some dropped passes but there were also a lot of times where he either passed too low, too high or too wide.
I agree there, you have no reason to support TB since he hasn't done anything impressive in his career.....yet...
He had impressive games last season...to say he didnt shows your bias. Also, he posted a +4.0 score yesterday despite 18 pass attempts. That's impressive.
LOL, feel free to be impressed. Just know that some aren't impressed when a QB doesn't take on a "big boy" workload.

Except you were impressed by Fitzpatrick's numbers, which were completely the result of having a minimal workload.
I don't know, that's actually a really good question. 14 would have been just under a quarter of the pass attempts yesterday. Kind of sounds low when you put it like that. Of course to some people 14 pass attempts would be an impressive full day's work for some QB's....
Sure, different kind of "impressed" though. I thought he was absolute garbage as a QB. Like up there with the worst in the game and he managed to have respectable numbers throwing the ball 28 times a game on average if you take out the game he got hurt early.....sure that's under the league average, but it's also not just 18. If people think Teddy Bridgewater is up there with the worst in the league and that he basically is incapable of doing anything legitimately good (like I thought about Fitz when the Texans got him) then it would make sense for them to be impressed that he managed to color inside the lines.
He's 28 years old. If he hasn't learned it by now, he's not going to. I know people wanted Mallett because of his "potential", but he's not exactly in a position to grow much. Experience will help some, but he's probably not going to change a whole lot. A 28 year old with talent you haven't seen on display isn't the same thing as a 22 year old just coming into the league.
he is 27. Age has nothing to do with it. Playing time does. QBs are not the same as other players. Kurt Warner was 28 when he "got it" with the Rams.
Point still stands. How long has he been playing QB? At least since high school, probably longer. That's at least 12-13 years. And the knock on him, at least from Arkansas onward, has always been accuracy issues. If he hasn't been able to fix them by now, I don't know why you'd ever expect him to. You can hope he does, but it seems unlikely. I wouldn't hold my breath.

The inaccuracy is tough to swallow, but so is his lack of touch. There is no reason to fire the ball as hard as you can when your guy is sitting less than 10 yards away from you. Of course there will be "drops". This is something that seems so easy to fix, but apparently its something that is not likely to happen any time soon. Obviously, we need to ride this guy out since the Texans dont really have any back up plans (Mallett should not be a back up plan to Brian Hoyer), so we'll see what happens.
Did you just Totally ignore the Kurt Warner reference? Kurt Warner was in the Arena league before the 1 year as 3rd string for the Rams before his breakout year......28 years old. But that doesn't fit your narrative.....does it?
Possibly, but I feel like we could have worked on his confidence and salvaged something out of him. He actually balled out to start the season off, look at his stats in the opening MNF game against the Chargers and then first half he tore apart the Seahawks. I would take pre-pick 6 nightmare Schaub over what we have now in a heartbeat. A lot of people have been talking about Bridgewater, but I really wish we got Carr. I honestly think Oakland has a solid offensive core looking forward. Would love to be optimistic about a Carr-Hopkins connection right about now.
With Schaub for most of his career our passing game was a strength. Now its likely the weakest aspect of our team. We don't need an elite passer with our defense and a healthy foster, we just need someone who is competent. Which a confident Schaub totally was. Now we are very bottom tier QB NFL wise. We're down there with the Browns in terms of QB situation. Maybe worse. It sucks.
