If Hoyer had been hitting people in the hands and just having them drop passes last week, I wouldn't have said anything at all about him.
Hoyer is better if he doesn't turn it over. He can actually make reads and throw somewhat accurately. But big if.
The top two, in my opinion, would be Jeff Goff from Cal and Connor Cook from Michigan State. Hackenberg is available, too, but hasn't looked great since he played for O'Brien.
Serious lack of Mallet criticism in the thread, lol. This is really bad... This is Hoyer's fault.. should have played better in the first game... BOB backed his way into a corner he really cant go back now.. can he!?
That's not true at all. I bet 80% Texans fans aren't native Houstonians, but this town used to able to pat their head and rub their tummy at the same time instead of a being a bunch of "dedicated" Karens.
Mallett kinda lost confidence in his receivers after the drops, but oline sucks. We're gonna be drafting oline it seems. X-Filo might look like a Nix casualty next year if he can't contribute this year. Why is the Astros game scheduled the same time as the Texans game? Something occupying MMP tonight?
Mallet may be inaccurate today, but don't forget he's still a young newbie. We can't lose hope yet. Let's stay strong and hope Mallett has a smarter and stronger second half.
Offensive Line = In shambles RB = no Foster, no line to block for them QB = Inaccurate, no protection WR = can't catch TE = can't block, can't catch That's the whole offense sucking. No wonder our defense is catching breath. Oh also, special team sucks as well. No way we are making the playoffs with this offense so might as well go for #1 pick.
I agree with everything you're saying. I like Mallet A LOT more than Hoyer (at least before this game). Even though Mallet hasn't had a turnover he has played TERRIBLY. The only reason the board hasn't been lit on fire is because Mallet is the one the fans wanted.
Also, a lot of it isn't his fault. He's had a garbage O line and his receivers have dropped like 8 passes that have hit them in the hands. Hoyer would have been sacked about a million times already and likely thrown at least 2 picks by now.
Well yea, most people said they'd rather suck with Mallett than Hoyer so it makes sense there hasn't been a mass flip flopping on that issue.
Too much justification for Mallett…and too much guess work on Hoyer. Reality is that they are really at the same level.
