Whatever it takes to start actually utilizing a TE, I am in.

I'm excited about this game, although not expecting much from Mallett. It will be a close game, but I think the team that scores the most has the best chance of winning.

Ehh, I'm not too sure about that. Personally I think the team that gives up the least amount of points has the best chance of winning. Could go either way though.

Both of you make compelling arguments but the team that scores the least and/or gives up the most points will most assuredly lose.

Is he related to the guy who use to play for the pats back in the day? If he is let's keep the patriot connection going. In all seriousness I would be all for adding him also.

The game last week was a harder opponent.
This game is VERY winnable [last week was too but this one more so]
I expect the QB position to shine this week . . no matter who in there
[except maybe Savage but I doubt that happens ]

In fact the next real test is Oct 4th against the Falcons
Then the next week against the Colts

Maybe this was the plan . . . . let Hoyer stink against a hard team
[He cannot say he did not get a shot]
then let mallet easy into it against the easy ones . .. *grin*

    Texans 28
    Panthers 10

This is the biggest loss for either team.

Can be a difference maker to the entire offensive gameplan.

Mallett is going to have to continue to get the ball out very quickly.

I think Brown's injury is a small factor in Mallett starting.

If losing your stud LT is a small factor... I would question how much of a stud he really is.

He's getting replaced by the guy we traded for from the Broncos, correct?

Unless they start Newton at LT.

I didn't say he was a small factor in the game. I said in starting Mallett over Hoyer. In the sense that Mallett is more poised in the pocket and has a much quicker snap to release time.

Who is playing left tackle shouldn't totally dictate who your quarterback is.

    Never said it would.

Its a big loss regardless of who is back there.

Now they're basically going to have a new guy at 3 positions to accommodate... new LT, RT, LG.

that's like 4 new linemen with only brandon staying put. what could possibly go wrong?

Close to no running game and inconsistent pass protection... which is pretty much par for what they were last week.

They'll have to maximize the quick/hot routes... Panthers have questionable safety play, so hopefully this patchwork line can protect enough to let Mallett get off some deeper throws.
