Just like trial law is about framing a position for juries, politics is about framing a position for voters. The 'truth' is not the point, appealing to the decider is the point in order to win.

The 'truth' is the responsibility of the fourth estate, free speech and the press. That's why the get reverence and preferential treatment under the law and that's what makes FAUX so insidious. The press is supposed to have journalistic integrity apart from politics not be be a complicit co-conspirator.

The People have to expect that lawyers and politicians are totally coming from a position of bias, they are advocates not informers. But we should be able to expect our 'news' to be fact based and vetted.

I'm not so sure about lawyers. Lawyers never get away with such behaviors in a court of law. They are legally bounded from making false statements. Now, their client on the other hand...

Hate and outright lying is a new standard for politicians and to some extend, the media. We are not talking about a few here and there. We are literally talking about a whole party and a propaganda "new" network. They get away with it because their supporter love it. It's a reflection on the supporters. With general support of such behaviors, faux and these politicians will continue to do well.

Sounds like it. The D&D may be too tough for him.

If we are critically analyzing this exchange, it would seem like you are more bothered by this. It's ok, not all of us are tough and can handle the heat.

Just take a deep breath, relax, and realize that the candidates are just trying to win the primaries. I doubt Ben Carson is racist and will employ racist policies.

You can always reach out for help with a "[help]" thread in the Hangout Forum. We would be glad to analyze your bottled up D&D/Republican hatred. We are all rooting for you! Like I stated previously, I don't want to burden you with my feelings: you already seem to be going through a lot of trouble in this forum. Please, don't do anything rash during this tough time. :)

Yeah I'm sure your analyzing of this exchange is totally unbiased, lol.
OK, So let me get this straight. You think because the republicans have one black candidate that it doesn't house racism, lol. Is that really your stance? my god that's stupid. It looks like you've chosen denial. The republican party is filled with racists, conservatives have always had a racist history. Are most conservatives racists now? NO, but racists are overwhelmingly conservative. It's historically true whether you choose to admit that or not. Carly Fiorina declared that she saw a planned parenthood video of a fetus lying on a table with with it's heart still beating while people where rushing to harvest it for its parts that no one else has ever seen. 54% of republicans still believe Barack Obama is a Muslim for gods sake. These things are true whether you choose to admit them or not.

This, that guy who stood up at that Trump rally was no rarity. The majority of Trump supporters feel this way about getting rid of Muslims and Hispanics. Trump represents them so it's not a surprise that he didn't shut the guy down like John Mccain did when a supporter called Obama an Arab. It makes no sense to act like all American Muslims terrorists when nearly twice as many people have been killed by white supremacists, antigovernment fanatics and other non-Muslim extremists than by radical Muslims.

One of the Planned Parenthood videos shows "a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says, 'We have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.' "

    — Carly Fiorina on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 in the CNN debate

Fiorina’s claim makes it sound like there is actual footage of Planned Parenthood examining an aborted fetus whose heart is still beating, while someone says "we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain." There isn't.

The numbers range from 43% to 54% but it's clear a huge chunk of republicans think President Barack Obama is Muslim.

54% of Republicans believe Obama is a Muslim.

A Trump questioner called Obama a Muslim. Many (maybe even most) Trump backers agree.

There is testimony from a medical technician describing exactly this.

The accompanying video is of a kicking child of similar gestational age being left to die at an abortion clinic.

"Makes it sound" is Politifiact's wonderful way of a calling inconveniently true statements untrue.

The media is struggling with this, as the general approach has been to ignore the videos entirely.

the "Obama is a Muslim" rumors were started by Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2008

I thought the moderator and the whole format were awful. Why would you have a moderator asking candidates to comment on what other candidates said about them in their campaigns? What a waste of everyone's time. When serious people were actually allowed to talk about policy issues it was fine, but unfortunately, that was a small minority of the time. Then the few questions they give everyone an opportunity to answer they waste time on secret service code names and what woman to put on the $10 bill.

If you know ahead of time that the moderator will let anyone whose name is invoked by one of the other candidates get a lengthy rebuttal, why would you ever mention Trump? Some of the candidates that got little air time (Carson, Paul, Walker, Cruz, Christie) should have made an agreement to mention each other in every answer instead of having a lengthy back and forth discussion between Fiorina and Trump on who can more quickly destroy a company.

That video was not a planned parenthood video. If you actually read my link you would know that. Although, the actual planned parenthood video was heavily edited it did not show any planned parenthood harvest. The federal government does not even fund abortions. The republican lies on that stage all went unchallenged by an irresponsible CNN. People on the right are upset over lies perpetuated by their politicians. Obama being a Muslim, undocumented immigrants all being criminals and murderers, planned parenthood harvesting fetus's with there hearts beating with monetary support from the government etc. Their sentiments are racist and uninformed which is a big reason why racist groups support the GOP.

Correction the federal government for the past 40 years have only supported abortion in case of rape or at risk pregnancies.

Regardless of who you CLAIM started it, it does not make my statement earlier false. 54% of Republicans believe Barack Obama to be a Muslim.

It showed a PP technician describing such. She didn't have her GoPro with her when she did it.

Money is fungible. Funding for PP allows them to charge less than market rate for abortions. The cost gap is closed by the taxpayer funding.

Negative, actually. That is not what this chain of posts is concerning. Stop building a straw man.

My stance is that your panties are in a wad, and you are trying to hide it by claiming that my panties are in a wad. In addition, I will also include your hypocrisy in calling people stupid, yet you are unable to formulate anything that even closely resembles English.

Yes, that is what the doctors said after your IQ test.

It's not a planned parenthood video. The video that Carly Fiorna is describing is not a planned parenthood video. You cannot blame planned parenthood for a video that is not theirs. Do I know for sure they don't do what the video shows? No, but there is no proof that they do. That doesn't stop Carly Fiorina from claiming that they are planned parenthood videos. Those videos are heavily edited, everyone on the right knows this yet that doesn't stop them from distorting the truth. The government does not fund the abortions by planned parenthood which is only 3% of what they do. It would be illegal for planned parenthood to do the things she described. Republican politicians just like Faux spread misinformation and distort the truth in order to anger there base. They get ratings and donations in exchange for their lies. One of the few people I don't see doing this on the right is John Kasich, who is actually someone I would vote for against Hillary Clinton.
