Before i put him in the ignored list, a forum member ask me (politely) to admit i was wrong about Feliz last night and that i should apologize for been wrong. Well, let me give you my thought about that. I am going to give you 2 names, Osuna and Kela. I believe VV and Feliz are better pitchers than those 2 (and i really like both guys, Osuna could even start in the future, Kela is a reliever). Toronto needed a closer, and gave teh opportunity to Osuna, Texas needed relievers, and Kela made the team out of ST and then was moved to high pressure situation innings. Now, the Astros have 2 great arms, better than the 2 pitchers just mentioned, in VV and Feliz. For a long time i said, and some other members that our relievers are doing good, but were not overpowering and we wanted a real closer. With only that 1 move the bullpen would be completely different. You move Gregerson to set up (he would be awesome there), you have Neschek and Perez in the 7th with match ups, You have Harris and Sipp and even Fields with match ups in the 6th and Qualls and Thatcher in the 5th. That is only 1 move and look how different the bullpen looks. My observation was, why not use VV as closer and see what happens? Or worse scenario, set up??? But we needed to do that when we where 5 games up, not now that we are 1 game out. We needed to groom the guy so in september and october he would be one of our best relievers out of the bullpen. I've been saying that for a long time, and what happen? Well, our bullpen imploded and we did not groom the 2 great arms we had to really help us out of the bullpen. Hinch used this 2 kids to pitch the same way Roberto Hernandez was used at the end, as long reliever or when games where decided already. The forum member asked me to admit i was wrong, well, i have no problem admitting when i am wrong, i will tell you i was wrong about Harris, i thought he was going to help us late in games in september, I WAS WRONG there, but i was/am wrong about Feliz or VV. How can we expect these young pitchers to be sharp if they DON'T PITCH WITH ANY CONSISTENCY? Feliz was able to get out of an inning that K sucked, but came back and was hit hard. Is not the same to use a guy for 1 inning, where you can come and throw fastballs and occasional off speed stuff than having to pitch 3 plus innings, that you need to pitch as a starter pitching with all your arsenal. Nor i want Feliz is a big moment in the game to pitch to Fielder or Moreland, i want a lefty to do that. So i am sorry, but i can't admit that my friend for these reasons: 1. Feliz did not pitch last night they way i want him to pitch, only for 1 inning (If is 1/3 or 2/3, fine with me) 2. He has not pitched consistently so there is not way he is going to be sharp, he is not Roberto Hernandez, a veteran that is capable of doing that 3. He has not been groomed the way i wanted, i've been saying this for a long time now, is not like we are struggling with our bullpen in the past 2 weeks and i say it for the first time, i've been saying it since Feliz and VV came to the majors. 4. Because i want Feliz to pitch only 1 innings, matchups are important for me, i don't want him to pitch to Fielder in a tough spot for obvious reason, one is a lefty other one is a righty, MATCHUPS. So i am sorry, i can't admit that, i think instead you should ask Hinch to admit he was wrong for not grooming this 2 great arms to really help us in September and October. The way they are been used, we could do that with Buchanan and Obbie.
"There's no way he's going to be sharp", yet have you been clamoring for him to be pitching in close games in the final 20 games of the season with little to no margin for error. He has not been groomed the way you wanted, and thus isn't prepared for the role that you want him to use him in, yet you've been clamoring for them to use him in that very role, in high stakes games in the final 20 games of the season with little to no margin for error. You're just spewing garbage out of all sides of your mouth. And Feliz came back up to the majors less than 2 weeks ago. This is the timeframe that you've been whining about him. I can only imagine what you'd have posted had he pitched a couple clean innings instead of getting shellacked last night.
Please, if you're going to respond to him, that's fine...but could you not quote him? After having watched the debate last night, my drain is bramaged and I can't handle that much more just pure stupidity.
i take full responsibility for the last game. i sarcastically said the game was over after finishing the first half of our inning 0-0. it's on me.
You never call a game a must-win when you are in playoff position, but tonight is a must win. Don't think this team can recover from a 4 game sweep.
That game sucked. But this one handed home run by Gattis is crazy. <iframe src="https://vine.co/v/eU1hb27w9ii/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>

Plz.
Why else would they re-instate him today? Although, not really surprised by anything anymore. Hell... they could have re-instated him at any point... its not like they don't have extra roster spots as is or that they need to send somebody down to make room for him.
Exactly, they could reinstate him whenever. But Julia just said he will be in the lineup. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Astros get Jason Castro back today. From listening to 790 sounds like Castros and Lowrie are back tonight. Good news although the fact that no new news from Gomez is starting to become worriesome.
