    Edit:

Not looking forward to him failing but looking forward to not seeing Hoyer play.

    I keep saying this.

You've got to go with Mallett, to me, just because of how apparent it became that he is better suited to show off all that is Deandre Hopkins.

    I can't say that enough.

Maybe Mallett fails, but when you have a low reward-type quarterback that isn't able to showcase the talent around him, you've got to find someone that can. It's like having Dwight Howard on your te, or better yet, Dream (a bit of hyperbole here), yet your primary ball handler can't make an entry pass into the low post.

It's all about the offensive line. When Hoyer had time to throw he was able to get into a rhythm. On Malletts first drive the o line played well and he drove them right down. On his second drive there was more pressure on him and the accuracy issues crept back up. He missed Graham and almost had a pass intercepted on the high throw to Mumphrey.

    Taking shots at Hoyer? :

I doubt he meant anything. Seems pretty innocuous to me.

NFL network had Pancakes on a lot last season especially prior to the draft...he was almost certain that the Texans told him they were selecting a QB #1 overall...

Im starting to suspect that Pancakes is getting trolled by Texans staff...

Props to Coach for fixing his decision to go with Hoyer over Mallet. Now it's time for Mallett to take full of this opportunity by snatching bull by the horns and leading this team to the playoffs.

    Let's go Texans!

You've described the difference between an above average NFL QB and a below average one.

It doesn't help that Hoyer's physical attributes aren't off the charts, but the dude does not seem to react well to pressure, and your going to get pressure in the NFL.

The really good QBs react well to pressure and the greats don't just react well to it, they take advantage of it... but not all the time... even they play worse when consistently pressured.

You hit the nail on the head as far as I see this. To many people see and hear to many things in a literal sense and can't put there minds into the arbitrary zone. BOB is not going to stretch the leash for a journeyman that gives up 2 touchdowns at home on opening day.

Glad coach Bob had the balls to make this move. This is the logical move at this point. They got to see what they have in Mallet to better indicate where the franchise needs to go from here. No more spinning their wheels. Everyone knows Hoyer has no future as a legit starting QB in the league.

"In this situation it's not like you have Tom Brady on one side and another quarterback somewhere else. Or Peyton Manning or someone else," he said.
