No one asked about what you do for your community. That's charity whatever it is.

We're talking about cops, the servants which americans pay to protect americans. The ones who you were acting like are charitable volunteer heroes. It's their job. They choose to join the police force, and they know what they're getting into and they can leave anytime.

Citizens have a job, too... to be good citizens! People in general are far worse than the police..

The best possible reason that police should be held to a higher standard.

    They are.

Most of the whining happens in cases where the police did little or nothing wrong.

Cases where they actually do wrong, like in San Antonio, we hear very little about it.

Or in places like Ferguson where police have a long documented history of discrimination problems but it gets distracted by one case.

No, that was an example of a lynch mob going crazy and burning a town when they found out the innocent man was going free.

I know that crowd has tried to re-write history to hide their shame, but I'm not buying it.

The officer in that case did literally nothing wrong, but it caused the most headlines and the most widespread protest and rioting.

Seriously - how are they so blind to the report that Ferguson is rampant in cops being racist? They just think that's ok.

I mean, it just makes me ill that people can somehow create this reality. They are truly brainwashed. They aren't even open to listening to a different perspective.

Wrong again. That was a case where there is a documented history of discrimination which you have never addressed or acknowledged that has poisoned a people against the perpetrators of that discrimination and unfortunately some bad apples rioted.

What's your problem? What does that have to do with racist cops?

You guys can't even explore the possibility that race is a problem area for police in that there might be a lot of racist cops. Instead you just all vehemently dig in and say it's not the case no matter how much evidence there might be.

It's like you are part of a Super Pac and just espousing talking points you heard on whatever conservative nut-blog you read.

Until body cams and independent investigation are standard, police aren't held accountable nor to a high standard.

That "documented history of discrimination" was completely and entirely irrelevant to the case, notice that they weren't chanting about discrimination, they were chanting "hands up, don't shoot".

Once they realized they looked like total r****ds going after an innocent man and backing a criminal who attacked a cop they tried to change the narrative and here you are pimping out that propaganda. Sorry Baghdad Bob, no one is buying it.

The reason for the protests and riots was 100% the Brown case, not that BS that was talked about after the fact in an effort to save face.

Uhm... When there is an organization that routinely discriminates against a group, that group is more likely to be upset by potential false alarms.

Secondly the people talking about hands up don't shoot aren't necessarily the same ones looting and rioting. They are generally the ones peacefully protesting.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferguson_unrest

It's like this information is from freaking wikipedia. You would think these fools would read it and understand what is going on.

The Ferguson protests and later riots was instigated by a constant record of discrimination against blacks in Ferguson. The police then incited them by peeing on their memorial and destroying it. Of course the right wingers leave that kind of stuff out because they want to ignore the wrongs of the police and blame the blacks. Typical racist scum.

Yet there is a documented history of discrimination by police. Ignoring that is holding police unaccountable and to an extremely low standard.

Again, you can spin all you like, but this wasn't something that happened 40 years ago, I'm pretty sure everyone still remembers what happened and why it happened.....and when the narrative changed.

I understand your embarrassment about being completely fooled by a lynch mob that wasn't concerned with justice, but you can't just pretend the protests were just and make it so. The "organization that routinely discriminates against a group" was a cover story spread after the fact.

I'm not spinning anything. I'm talking about plain and simple facts. Some of them you ignore and refuse to address, but it doesn't change the fact that they are actual facts.

The discrimination wasn't something made up after the fact. It was something that is documented to have been going on for a long period of time.

You can ignore it if you want to, but the people who were routinely discriminated against may not always be willing to ignore it.

I'm dealing in facts, you're dealing in only some of the facts, and striking out when others bring up the facts you refuse to address.

Sure, but it had literally nothing to do with the protests or riots. That was 100% caused by the lies about "hands up don't shoot".

It would be like if I punched you in the face and said "That's for stealing my car!!!" then it comes out that you didn't do that at all so I say that me punching you had nothing to do with the alleged car theft, it had to do with you cheating on your taxes.

It would be more like if I had a history of stealing cars from your family that was documented and you knew about. Then your car was stolen and I was laughing about it and keeping my key chain out of sight. Some people also said they saw me steal your car, so you punched me in the face and said, "That's for stealing my car." Then later you found out that this time, I didn't steal your car even though I had stolen 5 other cars from your family.
