well now we know the storyline for the rest of the season so the characters dont need to go anywhere the tried and true brutal military takeover during a disaster trope that has been done a dozen times before this show is so uncreative
I'm actually happy they didn't go into the mountains or whatever they were going to do. It would have been exactly like TWD. I actually want to see how everything goes to hell when the military gets involved. No black men to kill so no one died this episode.. jk jk.
Same here, I'm pretty curious about that angle. I'm not sure it's a take over type situation just yet since it's pretty early in the outbreak.
I'm liking this show. Surprised really to see so many negatives in here already, but then again what did I expect? Acting is much better than TWD so far and I like the tension on the show. That said, one big question... There is a riot in LA and they are burning buildings, stealing cars, etc. but somehow this one truck was left alone?
Really? I'm withholding judgement on this show as its way too early in the outbreak. But my one gripe is the horrible acting all round. I actually think most of the actors on the TWD do a pretty good job.
You realize that that's what would happen in an apocalypse..... right? The national guard comes in to help and if it's really serious it gets upgraded. It's not cliche it's what would happen. That's like saying people driving in cars is cliche, lol. Look there is a guy running from a walker.. so cliche, lol.
Oh my god, that guy bled when he got bit, so cliche. I like the military angle and I like how the ending did a great job comparing the innocent fool's reaction to the man who's been there when hell broke lose before. (Assuming he survived El Salvador based on what we've heard so far.) Military arrives: Main Star: See, everyone will be OK now, the National Guard is here. El Salvador Pops: Oh no. We're screwed.
Anyone catch the possible foreshadowing by the blonde mom? "If I turn out like that zombie, you(talking to the hispanic mom) take care of it"
i hate how when they were playing monopoly the daughter made a joke about "elementary capitalism" so cliche by the liberal entertainment industry.
And not surprisingly she lost the game to a junkie and her mom. People who hate capitalism are usually terrible with money, just ask Marx Spoiler Spoiler It's just a joke, not trying to start a political debate
The national guard\military SHOULD be more in the know than the average civilian, or we are at this point in the show. I hope the addition of the military allows them to expand our scope of the outbreak. I understand the show is going to be about this locale, but we have already heard its in X number of cities across the world and since communication is non existent in TWD and its going to be difficult for the story not to just become TWDx2 unless we get filled in on some details of whats going on. Or maybe ill just got re-watch Jericho. We are halfway thru season 1... 6 episodes, smh.
i hated it when the son purchased boardwalk and she said he's "lucky". Everyone knows those spots are for suckers
I was disappointed to see a 120 lb German Shepherd succumb so easily like that. I was hoping it would have become part of the show. imo, any normally protective German Shepherd, especially a threatened one in its own home, would have knocked down the zombie and chewed its neck off. Hard to bite someone when they're chewing your neck off. Then they learn to use him as a weapon. The ferocity, speed and agility a shepherd can summon in small quarters when needed doesn't seem like a match for a slow-moving zombie. I supposed the story was the dog was injured and it was a neighbor that he knew so he laid over with no resistance. sigh
expect to see the heartless, power-hungry general/colonel who imposes martial law and starts shooting innocent civilians
Or it could've been that because the dead don't have the same reaction to pain injuries that the living have - he simply began eating the dog while the dog was biting him
These shows might have been a lot better if the zombies could run like in "28 Days Later". These zombies in this show seem slower than in TWD imo. I guess they are a bit confused on where to go because they haven't formed packs yet or something. It almost seems kind of laughable they couldn't control the outbreak given how slow these zombies are. If the uninfected would stop walking up to them trying to have a conversation with them, then maybe it could have been contained.
Well even then it could be, if you know that people turn when they die, you just make sure you shoot them in the head as soon after death as possible. The zombies in TWD are so easy to kill that every able bodied adult could kill multiple zombies, you can't fully contain it, but it would be manageable after a certain time.
