McHale - aim for first second seed, win division. Talked to Lawson about working in defense. Harden to play off the catch more.

Well. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Coach McHale says they will have to be smart with Dwight Howard, not play him in back to backs <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Rockets?src=hash">#Rockets</a></p>— Joshua (JR) Reese (@MrJoshua) <a href="https://twitter.com/MrJoshua/status/643944060718215168">September 16, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

WHAT? He looked fine after he came back. The no play on back-to-back always disrupts the rhythm! Arghhh

This is fine with me. I just hope Dwight understands when we laugh at him asking for 30 mil a year next offseason, though.
Except when DH12 did it at the end of the 2014-2015 season, he performed impressively in the playoffs. TMac was a no-show in the 09 playoffs
I get what you're saying, but Dwight was coming off like a month and a half missed and it made sense to work him back slowly. He's had a whole offseason to recover that knee and it's already been decided that he will miss back to backs before the season even started, signifying that there is still an issue with the knee.
I havent gone through the schedule to count the number of back to backs but I am sure its like around 15 or so -- so that means he misses around that many games. I dont find that to be a huge deal and more importantly the situation is ridiculously fluid. I am sure at the start of the season they may be cautious with things and play him only in one of the two games. I don't know what sort of rehab he has been going through over the summer, but McHale is right they have to be smart with him. Dwight has had two big surgeries in the last 3 seasons and he may not get back to the one in the lifetime athletic freak he was in 4-5 years ago, BUT thats not to say he cant still be a dominant force out there. We saw how he performed in the playoffs up until he got hurt again in the WCF I would imagine on how he holds up as the season progresses they either reduce his minutes or hold him out of the occasional game to avoid unnecessary wear and tear. Also I think they are more willing to do this because of the development of Capela. The more experience he gets the better he has played if he can be a legit 15-20 minutes a game it would do wonders for Dwight going forward.
