Is that type of contract even possible?

Isn't their a limited % the contract can raise each year?

That would have to be 2 contracts. 1-year deal for $10 million. Then re-up him for 3/90.

Discrediting the rest of the roster! :p Yes, they're better with him than without him BUT...you knew that was coming

He missed half of the season last year (41 games).

    With: 29-12
    Without: 27-14

Increasing cap and all, $30M, that's a lot of [IMG][IMG][IMG].

Money aside, are you okay with giving him a 4 or 5 year deal? Into age 33-34 seasons

This isn't about keeping him or not. His health will determine everything, but those two wins right there, in the West? We're talking about a difference in the playoffs of about 5 or six places. Every win matters.

    That's like the Shaq-Miami deal.

Didn't he ask for 60 millie over 2 years?

I love Dwight, but unless he returns to Orlando-NBA finals status, there's no way.

Now, why can't I be filthy rich like that? The possibilities...

You never know, Dwight might like Houston so much he takes a pay cut.

LOL if Dwight thinks he is getting 30 million. Unless he drops 25 and 14 this year and wins the title...

I think his point is, is 2 wins worth $30m a year? The answer would depend on 1) how reliable Clint and Dmo could be to fill in the 5 spot? 2) what else you'd use $30m on assuming we'd be under the cap. Unless dwight is willing to take less or a modified contract which some here suggest.

There's no evidence out there right now to suggest he'd take a paycut OR that he's demanding max money either.

No athlete should ever take a paycut. He should get the max he can.

i agree that dwight should try and get his money...i guess he doesn't want to win if he goes anywhere else.

harden is the best dude you could play with right now. take it or leave it.

i'll stick with going after KD and have clinty man the 5

the " he could command as much as 30 million" is something that everyone who has an idea of the cba could tell you. These espn articles are literally devoid of meaningful content.

$30 million over two years? Three years?

Surely he isn't going to ask for $30 million A YEAR.

I don't give much credence to these rumors (nor believe the negotiations won't take different directions atleast a hundred different times) until the current season is atleast halfway over. Come All-Star break, we'll have a clearer picture of what Dwight can demand.

All depends how he does this season. If he stays healthy and plays well, someone will pay him big.
