The backup QB is the savior.

    Never change, Texans fans.

You can just admit you were wrong. There's no need to keep digging and making the hole you are in any deeper.

Did you admit that when you first said Mallett was worthless and starting him is equivalent to giving up on the season?

Wrong about what? I predicted Hoyer would beat out Mallet. I didn't say he would be great.

Mallet has done nothing except play crappy in practice and show flashes in games.

    We'll see.

Absolutely. He impressed me with his quick release and his strong arm. I didn't expect those things to make up for his slow feet and often inaccurate passes. My original thoughts that he couldn't overcome those weaknesses in his game was absolutely wrong.

New information remember? No one knew Mallet had a strong arm and quick release.

And he didn't beat out Mallett even though he was handed the job. At this point you should admit that the team is better with Mallett than Hoyer, or rather you would if new information could modify your position on things.

    Lol, OK.

    I'll inform the head coach.

    You're losing it now.

For O'B to say that Hoyer is still his starter for whatever reason just makes him look silly.

For him to change his mind after one game will also make him look silly. Depends on how much pride he has, but he should name Mallett the starter.

I was completely wrong about Hoyer. The guy sounds like he's a practice warrior but craps the bed under the big lights. No way should he start another game for this team. Let's hope that one game is the only opportunity cost for us to realize this.

You would think Texans would learn from previous QB woes. I hope JJ request a trade. This isn't fair for him.

Mallet scores one TD in garbage time and you guys want to give him the QB1 spot lol. Did you not see the two open passes he missed on the last drive when it mattered?

He was in a great rhythm in the drives he did play in... however those missed passes (guys wide open) were reminiscent of the game against the Bengals last year (the one where he apparently made the decision to play hurt and hurt his team).

Mallett looked competent for the most part. He had a series of 3 bad throws in a row on the second drive, but he looked a lot more comfortable in the pocket, and had better movement inside the pocket, stepping up and looking downfield.

Hoyer looked completely lost for the most part. Bad throws off his back foot, weak throws, not throwing it when receivers were open. He looked overwhelmed and out of focus.

Very surprised that O'brien made the change in game 1, it's going to be a long season with these 2 qb's.

They need to find a qb for the future, and stop it with these band-aid qb's. Every team in our division have a guy that they are going with for the foreseeable future. Not sure the Texans have one on the roster. I'm pretty sure Hoyer is not the guy.
