Welp, 6 man rotation back down to 5. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Scott Feldman will missed the rest of the season with a right shoulder sprain.</p>— Jose de Jesus Ortiz (@OrtizKicks) <a href="https://twitter.com/OrtizKicks/status/642390392172773378">September 11, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
6-man rotation, potential playoff rotation, who's in, who's out...these things usually have a way of figuring themselves out. Get well Scotty!
I liked the 6 man rotation because it gave us flexibility to set it up to where we optimized our pitching matchups (while still throwing Keuchel every 5th start). This is a bummer.
Because he'll be on the DL, I think that means any player can take his spot on the postseason roster.
Yep, he's been pitching well, but he and Lowrie both seem like they're destined to only play half the year every year going forward.
Opens up a spot for Velasquez. Keuchel Kazmir McHugh McCullers Fiers Velasquez Sipp Perez Fields Harris Neshek Gregerson
I am saying that he wouldn't have been on the playoff roster otherwise. But now there is room for him.
The one to watch now is Feliz. If Sipp is hurt, or Fields/Perez continue to struggle, he might sneak onto the playoff roster.
But you had Fields on your roster, who would not have been eligible to be on the postseason roster, so you are really saying Fields is the beneficiary.
Wrong, Fields is eligible. Anyone who was in the organization prior to 8/31 is eligible for the postseason roster.
