Just upgraded the new Pc to windows 10. Anyone else feel like we are living in the future?
A future where privacy is dead?

It's Hardens world and we're living in it.

The biggest reason I was excited was to watch HBO GO from my browser since I don't have a streaming stick/device and my tv doesn't come with HBO GO. It was said that Dolby Digital would be supported in Edge, but I go to HBOGO.com and load up a movie or show and nothing. It stays on stereo or multi channel when usually It automatically jumps into dolby or dts on my AVR. I play movies with VLC to test and it does work, automatically detects Dolby, so is this a feature that isn't working yet, but will eventually with an update or is it up to the web site to allow it?

I have an older receiver that has DD, but not DD+
Is Edge only going to work with DD+? This why I'm not seeing any change?

Another question fellas. How do I get my Xbox 360 controller working in Windows 10? It shows up in the devices, but its not working with any of my games anymore. Its a wireless with the plug n charge kit and a wireless toggle that I got from ebay.

I REALLY wish I knew why after a year, I still can't post in any of the bbs forums, so i'm forced to ask questions here where there isn't much traffic. Thankfully I have answered two of my own questions but I have one more.

I use my desktop connected to my 55'' LED Tv through dvi to hdmi(I don't have hdmi to hdmi bc it is mini hdmi on the back of my card-need to buy one soon). I then have an optical running from the sound card to my older AV Receiver. It's a Denon AVR-683(it doesn't have HDMI). Okay, so i'm not an audiophile, but I do like proper surround. I've just noticed that because I am connected to my computer that I can not use my receivers Dolby/DTS surround or Pro Logic buttons. I can only set it to Direct, Stereo, or 5CH Stereo. I usually have it on 5CH stereo which just plays the same thing out of all 5 speakers. I went to sound manager. It's SPDIF OUT and went to properties, selected and tested DTS Audio, Dolby Digital, 44.1kHz, 48.0 kHz, 96.0 kHz. All worked. I set format to the highest I could which is 2 channel, 32 bit, 96000 Hz (Studio Quality). My music plays at Stereo 96k or 5ch 96k on my AVR. My movies automatically play with Dolby or DTS audio on my AVR. My games are stereo or 5 ch.
I am aware or at least I assume that I can't get Dolby Digital with Microsoft Edge when I watch HBOGO or Netflix because it is only Dolby Digital Plus and my AVR doesn't support that. That's fine. What I really want to know is am I gaming the right way? Do games not support a surround sound set up? I feel like I've seen other friends game with 5.1 surround and it was proper. Like the dialogue in the front and you could hear background noises in the rear speakers. I'm not getting any of that, just the same audio coming out of all 5 of my speakers. Is there something I have to do on my end? Something I have to download? Some setting I'm missing? Or do I have to buy something completely new to get my AVR to recognize my games to play in surround? Do I just need a totally brand new AVR? (If my surround card settings are important to all of this, I don't know what it is. My friend installed it for me and built it, if someone could help me find out the make and model # without having to open up the tower to look inside because I wouldn't know what to do in there.)
I just want to know if I am getting the best sound I can get out of my set up and how to get surround with my games.

Ugh. Okay. So I found the downloads for my sound card, it came with Creative Audio Control Panel, Creative Console Launcher, Creative Software AutoUpdate and something called ALchemy. So I did the update first and I got updates for DTS and Dolby Digital Live and I got super excited thing its exactly what I needed. Finished updated and restarted. I see no change. None of my games are playing in surround. On top of it all, I can't even open the Creative Audio Control Panel or Creative Console Launcher at all. error for launcher "There are no supported audio device available. You need to close the application. Click OK to close the application now." Error for Control Panel: "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The Application will exit."
