Super Brehs Draft: Forum X Edition

Ill take LCA over SC.
Moses played Kareem alot and handled him pretty well. Seemed he always outrebounded Kareem. They scored around the same Elvin hayes vs Bosh would be interesting low post player vs a stretch player. Payton would lock steve down however. Kobe would also eat Dr J up. I would start Elgin personally and he would win the matchup against worthy I believe. Hard to say but I think Kobe puts LCA over the top. Nobody to really slow him down unless Dr. Js length bothered him.

Ill take Redredemption over LospollosHermanos
Magic and Glide just are too much for Frazier and Maravich. Plus no way mikan can stop a 7 6 dude. Hed have to be super fast or super strong. Im assuming hes neither however I wasnt alive back then to know.

Spooner vs Red Nation is the hardest matchup for me to judge. I like that spooners backup is westbrook. He can slide in with Tmac and Hill and Red Nation doesnt really have enough defense to guard them. Barry and West wont be athletic enough to handle the backcourt of any lineup Spooners throws out. Shaq is a beast but I think Russell has the muscle to slow him enough. Shaq will still put up 20 plus points but it wont be anything over 30 or some abysmal number. Kidd getting to ball to Tmac and Hill would be hard to stop. Dumars and Marion would have to play alot to even provide an ounce of defense. Mchale and shaq together in the paint also messes up spacing I think.
Ill go Spooner game 7 Tmac game winner. Close call though.

Horry vs. LCA

Talent: even
Fit: Horry
Matchups: LCA

I think both teams could use more shooting, but LCA's team will suffer a bit more from it because that team is built with two post up big men, so space is more essential. This team will also have issues with moving the ball, because Hayes and Moses were black holes, and Kobe and Jermaine could stop the ball too.

As far as matchups, Payton is tough for Isiah to cover because of size, but overall I think the Horry team will win this one.

Winner: Horry

FTW vs. Jmc

Talent: Jmc
Fit: even
Matchups: FTW?

FTW has a great team offensively, and on defense it's a matchup nightmare for anyone because of the Pippen / Anthony Davis / Wilt frontline, it's just a lot of length, mobility, shotblocking, help desense. Hard to get to that rim.

Jmc also has a good team on defense, and I think he has an even better offensive team. An elite scorer at every position and a couple on the bench, most of them are unselfish, smart and shoot well, most of them can get inside and make defenses collapse and make a pass. Ball movement should be very good, spacing will be great, everyone can kill you at any time, that's a nightmare to defend.

Very tough decision. I think this is pretty much a coin flip, but I'll pick Jmc just because I think his team has slightly more talent.

Winner: Jmc

Yung-T vs. RedRedemption

Talent: RedR
Fit: Yung-T
Matchups: RedR

I'll go with Yung-T because that team fits a bit better in my eyes. RedR team might have a slight talent advantage, mainly because of the bench, also Yao is a tough matchup for both Walton and Dwight. So it's a very close call.

Also, I don't know who Steph Curry can guard here, but I also don't know who can guard Steph Curry.

I'm probably not the biggest fan of Walton or Yao in all time drafts, but for different reasons. I think Walton would be a very good player today, but not as great as he was in the 1970s. He's a slow thin guy, and today's teams are much better spaced, it will be tougher for him to defend strong post scorers (like Yao). Also, he didn't get across halfcourt in probably half or close of Portland's possessions, it was a much faster game. So he could hang back, make huge impact as a transition defender. Today he'd have to participate more in halfcourt offense and have less of an impact defensively.

Yao just was injury prone in his prime. If we do this fantasy matchup a bunch of times, Yao is going to miss half the series, so it lessens his value in my eyes. But he's still a very valuable player and a mismatch here, when he plays.

But both Walton and Yao have very good backups, so either way not a big deal.

Winner: Yung-T

BiggRedd vs. RedNation

Talent: RedN
Fit: RedN
Matchups: RedN

I think RedNation has a bit more talented team, plus McHale owned Ralph Sampson. Also, I think his team fits a bit better. I'd prefer to replace one of Ralph or Nique with a shooter, they are both midrange area guys and athletic finishers, so it's a bit of an overkill, especially next to Iverson / Hakeem, who I think should have multiple shooters around them.

Winner: RedN

I like Horry over Lca
Spacing for LCA is really bad for this matchup. Elvin Hayes on the perimeter guarding dirk is a bad match up. I think the front courts will be the biggest factor. Jordan and Kobe would have a duel. I think Rodman could play some 3 and guard worthy which would be really huge for horry. Shooting for both teams is limited. I just see the paint too clogged for LCA to beat a defense around Rodman Mutombo and Jordan

I like Red Nation over bigred
This go around RN doesnt need a stopper because bigreds go to scorer is Hakeem. Chris mullin would need to be in the starting lineup for spacing. AI penetrating and Hakeem down low would be a good combo. Chauncey could play D on Shooting guards like Ray Allen. Shaq down low getting double with all the shooters is too much for big red.

Ill take horry over lca.
I like jmc over ftw.
Hard choice but im picking redred for his inability to hide steph defensively. I don't trust him to guard any bc player of redreds.
Tough to choose again Ralph and dream but ill take RedN slightly.
