Overall who cares. We won 2 ships, Dream’s peak in 94-95 was just as high as MJs if not higher. The rules of the days favored teams with big men and Hakeem was far and away the best. He had a scrappy team comprised of tough vets and young talent. Even back then Rockets were a 3 and layup/close to the basket team. Every team had their match no matter how dominant. Jazz were winning 60 games year in and out but would get their ass kicked by the Rockets. Rockets would beat most teams but could not beat the Sonics. The Bulls whooped everyone’s ass but Hakeem had his way against them in the regular season. These are all interesting points but we’ll never know how things would have panned out ‘if’ MJ didn’t retire. All I know is we won back to back champs while beating tougher teams than MJ ever had to. Think about it... in 95 the Rockets beat the 60 win Jazz, 59 win Suns, 62 win Spurs who had the MVP whom Dream absolutely stomped on and shut down (he shut down an all time great during the best season of his career on the second biggest stage) and finally swept an ultra talented 57 win Magic team in the finals. The Rockets run should be praised instead of questioned, PERIOD.

Didn’t watch but the premise makes no sense.

Could the 95 Magic have beaten the 95 Spurs team? I mean who gives a ****. Jordan didn’t make it to the finals to get his ass beat. We swept the ****ing Magic of course we beat the Bulls.

People get angry here cause Kenny Smith is part of the media and doesn’t predict the Rockets will win the title every year

so they don’t understand that he was part of it
And that he wasn’t some dude who just hit three pointers

Agreed. Rockets and olujuwon defeated Shaq who was a dominant but post player.

Rockets not only defeated Shaq, it was a sweep and overwhelming victory.
