Seems like a redundant add with the Clippers. So meh.

The clips only actual pg on the team. and they added him for nothing. smh

he might not be a star player but against 2nd units and what the clips were missing, he's definitely going to be useful for them

I would take Reggie and trade Gordon for a good player.

    Reggie Jackson > Eric Gordon

    Per 36 minutes:
Reggie: 20 pts, 7 assists, 37.8% for the three
Eric: 19 pts, 2 assists, 33.2 for the three

Reggie is not an actual PG. Come on now.

He's more of a scoring guard with very poor vision and a shitty ability at being able to run a team. He would be a great spark off the bench if Lou ****ing Williams were not on the team.

Doesn't sound like a great add.

hes more of a pg than anyone on that roster. again not the greatest player but the clips filled a need with someone that's capable of limited minutes

What?? Bro, have you watched Reggie play? Nothing about his game says "actual PG". He's a shoot-first guard who lacks the court vision to facilitate a playoff offense. They already have Lou to fit the scoring role, so I'm really not understanding the fit as of right now.

yeah i have. and compared to anyone on that roster, he's closer to a pg than anyone else is. now he gets a clear role on what the clips need him to do primarily against 2nd units in limited time

Ok, so you aren't saying he's a GOOD PG for that team.....you're just saying that he's the closest thing resembling a PG on that team? If so, then I agree.

clippers needed a pg that could be a tablesetter and get guys easy buckets. this whole season has shown how ineffective kawhi and pg are when they are tasked as the primary playmaker. lou williams is just a pure scorer and bev has no pg skills. reggie jackson only looks after himself. i guess it's better than having nothing as a backup pg. but if you're the other team, you're winning the battle if reggie jackson is on the floor instead of lou will or patbev.

good thing darren collison decided to stay retired. lakers needed a secondary playmaker to lebron more than any other team and they got nobody.

If Jerry wasn't calling the shots I'd really think this was a bad move, but Jerry is the GOAT so I'm interested

The Clippers continued struggles at point guard shows just how much Clutchfans overvalues Beverley and Lou.

In a vacuum, there are wonderful role players to have and we all love them. However, when you're trying to win a championship, you have to upgrade the point guard position.

Reggie Jackson is not the solution. He's another shoot-first 2 guard dressed as a point.

In hindsight, Clippers sure wish they had Chris Paul running show next to Kawhi and George.

Even at the trade deadline, there was the possibility of...

    Clippers:
    • Chris Paul -- $38,506,482

    Thunder:
    • Beverley -- $12,345,680
    • Harkless -- $11,011,236
    • Lou -- $8,000,000
    • McGruder -- $4,807,693
    • 2020 -- First Round Pick (sent to Knicks for Morris)
    • 2021 -- First Round Pick Swap (sent to Knicks for Morris)
    • 2021 -- Second Round Pick (sent to Knicks for Morris)

Clippers learned after Paul's exodus that top playmakers don't just grow on trees and are worth massive contracts if they get you closer to locking down a championship run, which that franchise has never experienced to begin with.

Also, Paul left the Clippers on good terms and got them great assets from the Rockets, so I think he would have been jumping with excitement at the opportunity to return to LA and compete for a championship with Kawhi and George.

On the other side, Thunder would have been happy to grab Beverley, Lou, etc, as assets to flip to other contenders and stock more draft picks in the already enormous treasure chest.

    Paul
    George
    Kawhi
    Montrezl
    Zubac

    JaMychal, Jackson, Shamet, Patterson, etc.

That's the best team in the league 1 through 5.

This trade is still a possibility in the summer if Clippers fail to reach the Finals because they lack a true playmaker.

I see this as merely a move in the LA arms race. Doesn't move the needle for Clippers, but it deprives the Lakers of a secondary playmaker.
