The biggest reason I don't believe Westbrook and Harden will work is that they are both high turnover people.

So many wasted possessions, CP3 fit because he could play off the ball and protected it.

You need at least a 2-1 Assist to turnover ratio, imho, otherwise it is fools gold.

Westbrook is a turnover machine, Harden is a turnover machine, only one allowed on winning teams.

Turnovers are what will ultimately hinder this team.

    Turnovers huh?
    I thought it was Tilman.
    Or lack of depth.
    Or Westbrook.
    Or going cold from three.
    Or defense.
Or not playing "Key to a Championship formula" Hartenstein/Clark.
    :D

Defense and poor forward rotation will ultimately hinder this team more than turnovers.

When westbrook threw the ball into Capela's chest. . . . who gets that turnover?

Meh. Per possession for a guard that gets to the line 6 or 10 times a game, they don't turn it over too much.

Our talent is just not enough. We have outperformed our talent for years with our system. But we kept dropping in talent and increasing in age. Our performances are 100% logical.

we are 14th in turnover rate as a team, so no...

believing that turnovers will be the reason for this team’s downfall when they can’t defend, can’t shoot consistently, and have a horrendous wing rotation is so off-base it’s not even funny...

Tilman plans to add turnovers in his restaurant menu.

They are both driven and ambitious.

Harden is too passive at times and too taxed when it matters.

Russell is too concerned with personal battles, like the one against Lillard or Beverley.

They are best friends, so they say but both are combo guards. Personally I think the spacing problem is evident.

    Sadly.

harden and westbrook's turnovers are inflated because they handle the ball for the whole team, we only had 2 more turnovers than the nuggets. that said 10 is a bit many. 5-6 isn't horrible as some casuals think

Result of not running team practices, only shooting practices.

Rivers is pretty safe with the ball, I saw Westbrook deferring to him after several turnovers, he should have done that more.

I am willing to talk turnovers after Rockets replace deadbeats like House, Sefolosha, Chandler, with real NBA players.

Chris Paul would have lowered the TOs but you are deluded if you think he would have fixed the other bigger problems.

Harden and Westbrook arent the problem on this team. Its the other pieces that are the problem.

    I'm with you here.
Last couple of season I loved having CP at PG toward the end of games
He was precision at the point with very few careless TO's.

James has a tendency to make careless, sloppy passes that go for 'pick 2' the other way
WB has the same tendencies. Except his frantic style is what gets him in trouble.
Too many turnovers is a bad recipe, especially bad on the menu with poor shooting and porous defense.

    Would agree here TOO.
Turnovers are only part of the problem.
Supporting cast has been non-existent at times.
-House is a negative on both ends of the floor right now. Needs to be replaced.
-PJ has been struggling to make shots
    -Even James has been struggling
THAT's 60% of our starting cast, and Clint can't take up any offensive slack. Relies on PG's to penetrate
-At least WB has weaned himself from taking 3's

    Credible thread

Add the fact Harden and Russ have minimal postseason efficiency/clutch, the situation seems destined for failure.

Neither Tilman nor MDA is helping much either.

James is having the lowest turnover rate in a season since his sophomore year in OKC. He’s never been better in Houston. Russ has one of his lowest turnover %’s in a season ever too. We really can’t ask for better from the two. The problem is we give 1.3 ppp up the off of turnovers which is 29th in the NBA. So even though we take care of the ball quite well, we hemorrhage points when we do cough it up

Yeah but turnovers in the 4th quarter, when the game is on the line, are still dooming us.
