repost and not happening. move on. the sooner you realize the buyout market is the only realistic avenue to adding a player at this point thanks to Tilman and LTS, the better. otherwise you're just getting your hopes up for pretty much nothing

And will give up what to match salaries? I’m not opposed to giving up Capela for a very good wing player, but the Lakers have a huge frontcourt. How do u adequately replace Capela in season? It might also have to be a 3 way trade because the Wolves already have KAT. Rockets and multi-team trades never have any life.

    I can’t lie, I like

    Russ
    Harden/EG
    Covington/House
    PJ

AFAIC, Covington ain’t worth thinking about

imagine if we had managed to pull off the Temple and Green trade *sigh*

We had Covington once upon a time. It seems like the Rockets are frequently giving up players too early or getting them too late.

I’m not holding my breath that any real difference maker will be acquired (or even available that we’d be able to grab in the buyout market).

Exactly this. Honestly, there is no "news" here - just the ringer trying to get clicks and chances are most in this thread already fell for it.

Not a luxury tax or trade numbers specialist, but agree that the Rockets need a defensive wing with size that can hit the three.

One thing that prime, younger Ariza and Luc Mbah had that stablized the perimeter defense: they were both 6-8 wings with defensive instincts but could hit the three to space the floor.

The Rockets currently don't have a player that size with the same combination of skills, Tucker (6-5) is very important to the team but we need another. Perhaps House (6-6) can develop into one, but we'll see.

Any trade for Covington would involve Clint Capela.

That has been the reality ever since the Gordon extension.

Would the Rockets give up Capela for Covington plus another player?

I wouldn't count on it, but it isn't as far fetched as some fans would think.

Tucker and House off the top of my head could work, but I cannot see MDA supporting that type of trade.

Not that my opinion matters........ but would I do a Capela for Covington and Bates-Diop trade? Absolutely I would...... could still go after someone like Nerlens Noel or Alex Len or Moritz Wagner or perhaps Richaun Holmes for a couple #1's (which is a high price but it would give you a good starting center.... and would give the Rockets two wings and a center).

Not a trade that would put us over the top, we need to get bigger if we want to beat the likes of Clippers, Bucks, Raptors, Lakers and Mavs in a series.

If we’re not good enough to beat the Raptors and Mavs in a playoff series then I will have seriously wasted my life this season.

This is the team lol we have zero cap room and hardly any assets. Unfortunately Harden will not sniff another WCF at least not with Houston.

    Zero assets
    Hardly any draft picks
Harden 30, Russ 31, PJ 34, EG 30....future looks awful
