He would start Westbrook, Harden, House, Tucker, and Capela. He would then go to his bench unit and give his starters some much needed rest. Westbrook would lead a bench unit of Rivers, McLemore, Thabo/Clark, and Hartenstein. If McLemore isn't playing well, keep both Thabo and Clark in there. If Clark or Thabo aren't playing well after 5 minutes or so, bring Tucker back in. If Hartenstein isn't playing well after 5 minutes or so, use Chandler a little more. If Chandler isn't playing well, use a little more of Capela, especially if you're planning to close out with a Tucker-wagon lineup.

If Thabo just got 2 steals in the last minute or so, leading to some good fast break opportunities and points, you don't immediately sub him out and bring Tucker back in to play for another 40 minutes at 34 years old. Simply put--and most of the best coaches understand this--don't exhaust your starters early in December when you have guys on your roster that can contribute.

Now, of course, MDA won't do this because he has never done this, which is why he should go asap, but it looks like the front office won't pull the trigger until after MDA gets outcoached in the postseason yet again. (Also, Morey's blindspot is still the impact of fatigue and wear and tear on players throughout the season.) Yes, I'm probably going to get the optimistic Rockets super-fans in the comments outraged. I know--as usual--this won't get traction until the next loss, and then that cloud of positivity will burst for reality to pop back in.

........that has a 7 or 8 man rotation PERIOD!!! Since that is the case, the only thing I'd have him do differently is have 4 or 5 power dancers sitting at the end of the bench instead of what's there now. I'm all for esthetics! :D

More like 6-7.5 man rotation lol. MDA really only gave iHart 2 minutes last game lol. By the time my man was starting to breathe a little hard MDA said his night is over lmao!

Yeah, who needs rhythm, or allowing players to play through mistakes to get better?

BasketMAD would hate our coach no matter what he did, because he can only realize what to do with hindsight bias. That’s why people only support you after a loss. If you make sense, people will support you if we win or lose. If you only get support after a win, it means you’re an idiot.

So, you started out with great logic and then went downhill from there. "Our coach doesn't do what I think makes perfect sense. That means BasketMAD is just a hater." Got it.

Well, see, NOW we're boiling it down to the truth. . .
When there are no positives posted, ONLY negatives, then there could BE something to your statement

    "Our coach doesn't do what I think makes perfect sense. . . " -
He does what I think makes sense and that's WIN GAMES.
I didn't realize he was supposed to consult you.

Besides, you think Dave Joerger would guarantee us a championship.
That's ALL I need to know.

How does this not make sense after a win? This makes sense on all sides.

Rockets always fatigue in multiple forms, mainly shots.

D'antoni has a 188 - 80 regular season record with the Rockets, good for a 70% winning percentage. No team or coach (including the Warriors who have 187 wins over the same time frame) has a better record since D'Antoni joined the Rockets.

Let me make that point again - no professional NBA coach has performed better than D'A since he got to Houston. It is foolish to think that replacing him with anyone would generate better results than what are already the BEST results over that time frame.

I don't know what your agenda is, but it's certainly not suggesting what's in the best interest of the Rockets. If that were the case, you'd be calling for a D'A extension.

    Thank you.

I'm sick of seeing the whole, MDA isn't a good coach nonsense. He's a good coach, but, is he a good fit for Houston winning a ring, is he the right coach moving forward, stuff of that category are possible questions to ask. Doubting his record, or his achievements is asinine.

Does that mean he's perfect? No. Not everything has to be so black and white here.
