Can anyone think of a trade that actually works?

Would they like a master brick layer in return?

That’d be the only way the Rockets could get him. No way they give up Clint and PJ.

When he’s damn near 40? No thank you.

I was looking for realistic trade for other teams. The only thing that I can see is to the Celtics for Hayward. Idk if the Cavs take that or if Hayward would have to go to a third team.

I want spare parts that the Rockets could possibly snag.

I also remember speaking with a friend of a friend who used to work for the Cavs as a video guy. He told me after the Love extension that it made him easier to trade. I did not agree and it looks like I was right.

Kevin Love 'Clearly Unhappy' With Cavaliers' Situation

A report surfaced over the weekend that the Cleveland Cavaliers are prepared to listen to trade offers for Kevin Love.

"Let me just say that I think the Cavs' phone lines were always open on Kevin Love," said Brian Windhorst on his podcast.

Windhorst suggests Love's relationship with John Beilein has expedited Cleveland's timeline on a trade.

"Love showed up for training camp two days before. Kevin was living his best life out in the world. I think that was a message right there," said Windhorst. "He's clearly unhappy."

Love has three seasons and $90 million remaining on his contract with the Cavaliers.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Love prefers a trade to a contending team.

Blazers are/were in a perfect postion to trade for him, they have a big expiring contract (Whiteside), they have all of their 1st rounders, maybe one from another team but not sure now...they have a couple of pretty good young players (Collins, Simmons), but the fact that they signed Melo makes me think they won't trade for Love.

Not sure what are the teams looking to add a player/contract like Love, i just don't see teams that desperately want to be competitive (Orlando, Indiana, Sacramento) trade for him, maybe Phoenix...but Brooklyn is a team i'd say might be more interested, i'm just not sure they could make it work since they can't trade LeVert and Prince due to their extensions, they would've to trade DeAndre, Harris, Temple, maybe another salary filler and pick/s.

Should've traded him a long time ago, now they'll get a bag of peanuts.

Eh, i agree, Love is obviously much better, it's just that they play the same spot and in the end they both can shoot/score but can't play defense which is what Portland really needs so, i have a feeling they won't make a big move unless it's for a defensive minded kind of player, and getting Melo might mean they feel they have no need to get another 3&noD 4, especially if he's on the books for 3 years at 30M per season.

I hate the fact that our "building a contender" consists of trying to bring in older stars who can't play defense.

I like how the players sign mega long terms deals with teams they know are going to suck and then say they dont like the situation.

All comes down to what is more important to the superstar player at that time.

Money? Then you take as much as you can get when you can get.

Winning? Then you do the Durant/Lebron contract, 2-3 years, so you can always assess the situation by the time your contract is over.

I think too at the time Love signed the signs were clear that he was declining.
