Wright is right. If we're talking over their entire careers, it ain't even close. And so far this season, I'd also give the edge to Harden. He had a slow start, but that's more than offset by Kawhi already taking 2 games off(and possibly his 3rd tonight) for "load management".

Kwahi's load management takes him out of MVP contention for me

Regular Season and Post Season are practically different leagues. Which one is Nick Wright talking about?

Kawhi jumped a level last year, particularly in the playoffs. That's where legacies are built.

1 having refs helping you and keeping their whistles silent to screw you purposefully are 2 different leagues as well
2 playing in the east and playing in the west are also 2 different leagues
3 playing alongside other stars and playing as a lone star are 2 different leagues as well

I mean do people realize that Harden averaged over 30 against the Warriors in the playoffs? He played very well, including solid defense throughout the playoffs. They just weren't better than the Warriors.

Kawhi got to play a completely hobbled Warriors team. Durant was gone, Klay ended up gone, Looney was hurting...

Now honestly I'm not knocking Kawhi AT ALL and I'm not going to pretend there is some gap between he and Harden. I think on any given night either one of them is better than the other, but I absolutely 100% am tired of this "Harden isn't great in the playoffs" take.

Harden's a better regular season player by FAR. But Kawhi's legacy is stronger because he's performed better when it counts. I'm not ready to say Harden's overrall better

Doesn't matter, Kawhi was picked at No.15, Harden at No.3.

Kawhi is good enough for 2 championships with 2 teams, 2 countries.

    It is what it is.

Kawhi is the better recruiter, Harden never recruited anyone in the mold of PG13, an MVP candidate in his prime (28 yrs)........

Kawhi helped beat the Miami Heatles, Heat beat the OKC 3 stars.....

Nick Wright is the Ben Shapiro of basketball analysts. Great debater.

I'm not saying Harden has been terrible in the playoffs or anything. Obviously he's being graded on a superstar scale. I think all the usual criticisms apply -- he's less effective in a 7 game series when you can scheme against him (particularly so because of his lack of a mid-range attack), he's less effective when he has to expend more effort on defense which is expected in the playoffs.

Who would you rather have in a 7 game series with a championship on the line -- a healthy Harden or a healthy Kawhi? Sounds like it is a toss up for you. That's fine. From what I've seen over the years, I'd take Kawhi.

Well, I wouldn't use that comparison, but he is a smart debater -- no doubt.

There is nothing wrong with saying Harden is better......but Kawhi has been better in the Playoffs.

Harden is very good at times in the Playoffs but he is also gassed in some quarters of the games.

This is Harden against GSW last year:
    Game 1: 35 points on .32% shooting
This is the game where everyone went "yep choker!" and wrote the narrative for the whole series

    Game 2: 29 points 47%
    Game 3: 41 points 44%
    Game 4: 38 points 45%
    Game 5: 31 points 63%
    Game 6: 35 points 44%

He also had 4 or less turnovers in all but 2 games.

He was extremely effective, they didn't stop his offense.

Kawhi got lucky facing an extremely depleted Warrior team in the finals. A lot of people consider him the best in the league because of that good fortune.

No doubt, but I'm pushing back on the idea that Harden isn't good in the playoffs. He's had bad games for sure.

    Postseason Kawhi >>>>>>>> Postseason Harden

Here we go again, another season crying about MVP.

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...ish-second-in-mvp-voting-this-year-to.302315/

I thought we were past regular season MVPs and regular season scoring titles and triple doubles and being swag champs. Nope.

    Regular season JH: Mike Trout
    Postseason JH: Clayton Kershaw

I think he has been better against GSW in the last two years.

But against the Spurs in 2017 I believe, and in 2015 against the Clips and GSW back then, he wasn't as good as he has been these past 2 years.
