So Tilman doesn't feel they can win or was he lying when he said he has no problem with luxury tax as long as we top3 teams

Seems like they are going to get a buyout done.

I have been team no savings for Tilman for months but I agree here. I wouldn't want to pay $20 mm in luxury tax and $17mm on his contract this year either. He's not that much of a game changer at his age. Is Iggy worth $37M in 2019/2020? And we are going to give them a first to take on that? Nah.

RoCo is paid $6mm less and thus the bill would be significantly lower. Iggy on a buyout is the move.

If we do nothing extra in this trade I'll be concerned but Iggy is not that guy.

1st round pick + going deep into luxury tax is not worth it for Iggy. He's 35 and doesn't shoot well.

If this were Iggy of 3 to 4 years ago, or a comparable younger player, I think they'd have no problem with the tax.

Why does it say potential sign and trade? Are they referring to using Shump? An easier path would be getting Iggy as part of the Paul/Westbrook trade correct?

The question is will he do it for Covington?

if I have to give up a first, I would do it for Covington but not for iggy. He is not worth a 1st in my opinion, would only consider if he is bought out

Hey look, a rational post rather than immediately jumping to conclusions. Weird!

I feel like you're absolutely right, the question is the value and he's certainly not worth the tax hit we'd take for his production. There are better options.

Not buying that Tillman has a problem going into the luxury tax, I believe he wants to make sure that if he is going to spend into the luxury tax that the team is getting positive value. $37 Million for Iggy is not positive value

Now for RoCo, I'll eat Saltgrass for weeks!

    What "better options?"

Covington is better but we aren't sure he is an option.

I would absolutely prefer Covington to Iggy, but I prefer Iggy to nothing. I don't want the decision about a move being about the luxury tax.

If we aren't gonna s+t Shump we should have used the rest of our TMLE on the free agents that were worth it, now they've all gone.
