Why hasn’t Morey ever prioritized acquring a shooting specialist?

    Besides Anderson. This team lives and dies by the three with a bunch of traditionally subpar shooters hastily converted into three point bombers. Do we really trust Tucker, Shump, Rivers, Green, House, etc to make threes at a reasonable clip in the playoffs? Doesn’t seem likely imo.

    Because a 33% 3 point shooter who plays good or better defense is easier and cheaper to find.


    Jesus it’s 2019, do people really not get how the math works yet?

    Because he thinks if you take enough threes, even if you are not shooting at a high clip, you will still come out ahead statistically.

    Percentage wise we are closer to the bottom as a 3 point shooting team I think.

    We should be in the top 10 at least.

    Defense is much more important. When the bricking gets tough, CP3 can squeeze points out and Harden/Capela can live in the lane. Lesser degree Gordon.

    House is more explosive than anyone we had last year other than the Gordon/Harden/Paul/Capela group.

    Lou Williams? The guy single handledly won us two playoff games, it was a great acquisition. Im guessing you just started watching NBA? He's literally the best shooting specialist in the league for the past 4 years?

    Turns out not knowing how to defense and play basketball is kind of a big problem

    He’s a scoring specialist. I’m talking about strictly three point shooting: a JJ Reddick, Kyle Korver, Wayne Ellington type.

    I think the only person I can think of that would fit better is Danny Green. I'm happy with "March" EG.

    We were close with Reddick, but we simply couldn't afford him when Philly outbid us.

    Also there isn't really that many shooting specialists out there that teams are willing to just part these days unless they have serious other flaws.

    Agreed, we've never had that sharpshooter who shoots 40-45% on volume. It does seem odd, but maybe it's really hard to find a guy like that who is not a defensive liability (ie, Korver).

    Thats not true at all.

    Philly didn't outbid us, we offered more. JJ turned down more money from the Rockets to play for the 76ers.

    Direct quote: "It wasn't about the money. Houston offered me more money than Philly. Total money. They offered me more money," Redick said (h/t Michael Kaskey-Blomain of 247Sports)."

    He went to the 76ers because he thought Eric Gordon already filled the role he'd be coming into and thus he felt the 76ers offered him more of an opportunity to secure minutes. He thought the 76ers were a better fit for him and he chose the 76ers because his wife wasn't too stoked about a move to Texas.
