This is a tough call, but the way it looks at the moment seems decent for the Rockets -- Utah and Denver as a possible second-round opponent.

I'm not including Sacramento, Minnesota or the Lakers since they could skew voting.

Shut down OKC before they build momentum as they progress in playoffs.

The Clippers are scrappy but don’t have enough fire power. I think we could sweep them and hopefully give our veterans some needed rest. Hoping for a 2 - 7 matchup.

Realistically, I think we may end up playing UTAH or Portland. In which case, I would prefer to play UTAH because you know.... Lillard.

Easily Denver. The rockets just own them as a team and still just a good regular season team at this point. they'll get a reality check once the playoffs come around

Warriors! Why is that not even an option?

Oh, well, the poll is somewhat real in addition to being ideal. . . .

Since I truly only care about the ring this year, I’ll take anyone (except OKC), so prefer hated rivals
    • I pick 1st Round Matchup based on who I most want to crush, but GSW not on the list.
    • I have most confidence beating Denver in that list, but dropping seeds to play them is not palatable.
    • I always want any excuse to crush Spurs and Jazz. Spurs are nice because no travel makes it easy.
    • Portland is a sweep for us, too.
So, all things considered, the Spurs.

There are no easy match ups tbh. The west is tough man.

But if I had to, gimme San Antonio in the first and Denver in the second.

I'm surprised people are so low on Clippers.

I watched the Lakers game vs Clips, they look scary when the 3s are going down.

Ok, ok guys... I added Golden State :). I thought that was assumed we wanted the Rockets to face them later, but the option is now there.

Stay away from OKC and San Antonio in the 1st round.

Absolutely the Clippers. They're the one opponent the Rockets could realistically sweep. They have no All-Star much less a superstar on their roster. Everyone else would give them at least a little bit of a fight in the first round.

It’s like trying to win the Heavy Weight Championship, when you already know you’re the best contender. The sooner you can punch them, the better, (see Paul’s playoff history).

But it’s fairy tale dreaming for us to fall to 8th seed, and Harden would lose MVP, so I’ll refrain. Spurs it is.

Clippers for sure. They don't have the firepower to really challenge us. Also, CP3's insider access to secret passageways at Staples gives us an added edge. :D

Honestly, there is no Ideal first round match-up against any western conference team, but when this team is fully healthy is capable of beating any team on that list. come playoff time when everyone on the roster is %100, I'll bet my money against any team.

To be honest, everything in the NBA that isn't a Rockets Warriors series feels insignificant. I'd prefer to just get it over with early, and healthy.

Spurs. MDA needs to get a solid 4-1 win over Pop before he retires.
