Considering this a "shot at Harden" is quite the reach...

 

Kawhi is so uninteresting they had to make thinly veiled references to other stars to draw attention to his boring shoes.

This is what I expect from a company that makes the Air Brisk Walks.

 

There’s a lot to unpack here:

1. Nobody buys new balance shoes, especially for basketball

2. Kawhi is so unmarketable that new balance decides to basically not use him in his own commercial

3. “Kawhi doesn’t need your attention” ....but kawhi needs you to buy his shoes

 

Kawhi doesn’t need your attention!!!! He needs you to not pay attention while he sits a whole season out with a fake knee injury!

Kawhi doesn’t need to chase fouls! He needs to sit out a whole season to make sure he is healthy enough in the last year of his deal to chase dollars!

 

"sweat the comments" could also be a slight at Kevin Durant. Both seem like reaches tho.

 

Kawhi also just took a shot at himself with this commercial and signing with new balance.

 

Yeah....those sneakers will be the most comfortable shoes for walking down the court.

I didn't really think any of it was directed at one person. I mean, was the part about not needing the cameras a shot directly at Lebron? Was the part about sweating the comments a shot at Durant? I didn't really think he was targeting specific people.

 

Kawhi and New Balances are the perfect fit for each other. Wasn't Kawhi part of Jordan? LOL.....

 

i think they'd actually sell more shoes if they just came clean about the truth and made a parody on dos equis w/ a Most Uninteresting Man in the World ad instead
