    EDIT: It was serious!

    ----

I really hope this isn't serious.

Potentially more troublesome, Rockets center Clint Capela left Amway Center with his right thumb wrapped with a plan to have it re-examined Monday after X-rays were inconclusive. Capela said he was hit in the thumb on an alley-oop in the third quarter, but did not consider any injury to be serious. He played three more minutes in the third quarter after the play, grimacing for a few moments on the bench, and played nine minutes down the stretch.

“As I was going up for the lob, I got hit in the hand,” Capela said. “We’re going to see what is it when we go back home. It’s just sore right now. We can’t really see anything (on the X-ray) yet. We’ll see what happens.”

It'll be day to day, which will then turn into 6-8 weeks.

Really hope that this isn’t a Jonas Valanciunas situation. Houston isn’t as deep (nor in the East) to have Capela out for an extended period.

They should have taken care of Orlando when they could have early. What a loss on multiple fronts...

With JV, they knew right away it was a BIG issue. Capela going back into the game, it probably isn't near that bad. BUT, it still could be something. Certainly something enough to keep him OUT of the game tonite.

I would like to know what the MRI said.

I'm sick of our medical team calling stuff day to day and now people are out weeks, this is getting ridiculous.

For you old guys like me who were kids in the '70's:

    Any time, any day
You can hear the MRI say
    That Morey's blind
Well, I don't know but I say our fate is signed......
Do do do, do do do do do
Do do do, do do do do do
    ......
    Oh yes, indeed we know
That Morey will find a way to go
"Don't tell them what the MRI said"
And Capela's fine for all we know
For all we know, the damn thing's broke
Is that what the MRI said?
So won't you listen to what the MRI said
    It said.....
Do do do, do do do do do
Do do do, do do do do do
    ......

Capela has a thumb injury; considered not serious and day-to-day. He's just giving it an extra day to heal & should be ready for next game. Do not fret #rednation. #runitback #runasone

    :D

Maybe this will be a wakeup call to get another big for backup, especially if Nene and our token white player can't do the job.

Under normal circumstances, I'd agree with you. But this training staff goes all Defense Minister of Iraq on us whenever there's any type of injury.

They must share the same training staff as the Texans.

He's been smacked on the hand a few times this year. I'm guessing he's been playing through a sprained thumb to some extent for a while and just aggravated it. On a back-to-back, not overly concerning he might need to sit a game or two to let the inflammation go away before he feels confident enough to play again.
