What is, in hindsight, your worst basketball opinion ever?

This board has been around for around 20 years. I have been posting here for 17 years. During the years we all made posts/prediction that were really really bad in hindsight. I thought it would be funny if we posted the opinions that we had that, in hindsight, turned out to be terrible. For example some poster might be upset with the Harden trade, or they thought Yao would be terrible. Maybe you thought Pippen would be a huge succes as a rocket.

Please post your own worst opinion. If possible quote your own post.

The worst opinion that I had was that I thought that Parsons was a better player than Leonard and that he had a higher ceiling. I also claimed that Leonard would never turn into a go to guy. Below is my post of Jun 26, 2013.

This wasn’t posted on the site, just argued this to my friends during their rookie years....
I claimed Budinger was better than Derozan. (I was younger at the time)

Me, and a lot of other people, swore Brooks was gonna be a much better player long term than Lowry. Once Lowry started making 3's I realized just how stupid of an opinion it was. I was counting on Brooks to improve almost every other aspect of his game while I didn't think Lowry could improve his only real weakness.

Scottie Pippen would put the Rockets back in the Finals.

That we should have still matched Parsons after Bosh turned us down and we signed Ariza....

I did not post it on this forum, but I thought the Rockets gave up too much for Harden. I bet my friend that Jeremy Lamb would have a better career than James Harden... lol

I thought Ty Lawson would show the world here that he was a top 7 maybe top 5 pg in the league. Guess that booze and that fine baby mom's of his said otherwise.

    Most recent wrong prediction:

Marquese Chriss would be Amare-lite now that he has Harden and CP3 as his playmakers.

Wasn't an opinion because even 2 years ago Harden was better than Klay in stats and play.

Should have never started that thread on a Rockets forum. Wanted some discussion that is all.

Klay isn't even one of the best 2nd options now.

I thought Morris over Kawhi was a good move. I thought Morris was going to be the next Melo.

I had high hopes for DMo and Lawson that never even came close. I didn't spam the board with them, though, but I did think James' ball-dominance was what ruined Lawson.

I was a big fan of Brooks over Lowry way back when. I didn't like the eventual swap.

I used to praise Howard and bash James after their playoff performances. (I'm not really backpedaling there, though. James has really grown up every year. Howard imploded.)

I was on-board the Melo acquisition and really thought a more mature Melo and CP3 could turn it around. Ended up being dead wrong. I don't really regret it though.

I was angry about picking up D'Antoni as our coach. I liked him, but the team seemed like it needed a disciplinarian coach at the time, not doubling-down. 100% regret that opinion. Now I'm a D'Antoni defender.
