Apparently 1 year $1.5x10^7 is not an overpay.

Or just maybe Washington doesn't want to overpay their young player this summer.

    Washington fans not happy.

So . . .we should have signed Ariza. . . just to trade him for Oubre and Rivers?

Washington wasn't likely going to re-sign Oubre. But they got nothing from him asset wise moving forward. Not even a 2nd round pick. Ariza "may" help them get to the playoffs. But then will bolt.

Suns keeping Oubre long term? They have a ton of wings, so seems unlikely.

The trade doesn't even help the Wizards LT situation.

    Strange trade TBH.

Not a good look for Tilman if this is what Ariza was worth.

    It depends.

He's an All time great if he's going to the Lakers. Otherwise he's a past his prime, overly expensive scrub.

I confess that I ate at a Tilman owned restaurant maybe 2-3 times last year. If you're looking for someone to blame for Tilman being broke, blame me.

That scrub is still reportedly coveted by a number of playoff teams

I know I want him back. I'm just pointing out how ridiculous the media narrative is.

DA thinks Oubre still could be "re-routed." Interesting.

Bet Ariza wishes he stayed in Houston now.

    No, Ariza is fine.

Ariza returns to the Wizards, where the organization sees him as an important addition to a fractured locker room -- and a teammate that All-Star point guard John Wall deeply respects. The Wizards were among Ariza's top-tier free-agent considerations in July, but Phoenix's one-year, $15 million offer was too irresistible of a financial score.
