Anderson was still giving us 10 or so points a night, a substandard defense at 4 and a look like of 4, with occasional eruption here and there. What did we get back for him? Then enter Ariza and Luc. Now think about this, the priority was to sign CC and keep CP3 as the boss put it. Morey made a myriad of moves to just make that happen. Out were Anderson, Ariza, and Luc; in were Melo, Ennis,MCW, Knight, Chriss. Except for Ennis erratic contributions, none of the new guys are contributing whosoever with Melo already being cut. Sometimes you just gotta think along Basketball, not just number and stats. Then, everyone is one year older with many already on the other side of their career. It’s just that simple. Hindsight is 20/20.
It's simple: kill the Batman. Actually my simple analysis: We were old and didn't have good depth; now we're older and have less depth.
It's simple: Rocket need a Full Caucasian on the bench Anderson was trash, but he could secure rebounds when he was playing in the regular season. Luc and Ariza were good rebounders at the guard positions.. I think we miss their rebounding more than their defense.
Rocket fans have gone rogue. I never thought I'd see the day people would be clamoring for the return of Ryan Anderson. Lol.
i think the switching defense is killing us. it's responsible for the parade line of layups we give up. the easy dunks by opposing team bigs. our inability to grab defensive rebounds. and as we saw tonite, opposing shooters lighting up guys like capela from behind the arc.
Gary Clark is also a good rebounder and defender but MDA would rather play 2-way contract House because he’s supposedly a better shooter. Offense will always take priority to him.
Rockets should definitely adapt the defense they had when Nene was in the game: They wouldn't switch when Nene's man was picked. Clint needs to be by the rim to get the rebounds.
No hustle, no pushing up the floor, no leadership off of it. Oldest team in the league....yep, we had our shot and blew it. DD
If you really sit back and look at the roster, you'll understand why we're so bad. 5 Centers (Capela, Nene, Chriss, Hartenstein, & Qi)... only Capela is worth a damn. 1 Power Forward (Clark)...a rookie that Dantoni stopped playing for some dumb*ss reason. 2 Small Forwards (Ennis, Tucker)...both are starters and combine to average 13 points per game. 3 Shooting Guards (Harden, Gordon, and Green)... One is a superstar that plays out of his position half the time & the other 2 are the most inconsistent players on planet Earth. 3 Point Guards (Paul, Knight, MCW)... One is pushing a wheelchair because of age, one hasn't played a game since 1994, and the other might be the worst player in the NBA. Oh, and Melo...who is on our roster retired. I dont know how people are trying to blame the coaching staff. Look at this b.s.
He's a rookie and the only real power forward on this team that can rebound worth a damn. Let's not act like anyone else on the team is shooting lights out. None of them can shoot.
He is shooting it especially poorly, so much so taht they will leave him open and clog the paint. He also is not good at iso defending. I think as of right now he should be playing more but dont act like there wasnt a reason.
