In the end, Rubio shut down Westbrook by getting him in foul trouble lulz.

if you want to talk like that, you have to back it up. WB was just plain exposed last night for his selfishness, poise, any sense of leadership, and bball iq. but keep averaging those triple doubles though. it means so much apparently, especially for fantasy teams.

this seems to happen to him every playoffs season. he gets fixated on meaningless games within the game trying to show up opposing players and protect his ego. you simply cannot win with this guy

WB focused on Rubio while the Jazz focused on winning.

    The expected result happened.

Twitter generation is glorifying those stats and crucifying free throws. Saw a kid tweet out that it was a joke that Derozan had 8 free throw attempts in the first quarter alone like if it was a bad thing yet glorified Russ.......

Westbrook is getting exposed this year. Can't get out of first round with PG, Melo, and Adams on his team. He's all about stats ... not actually helping in the W/L column.

Back in HS, we had a DT kind of like Westbrook. Strongest guy on the team and a hell of an athlete for his size. He would get so pissed at the Offensive Tackle that he would drive the guy into the backfield while the RB walked right by him. He was so blinded by beating the crap out of the OT that he literally never saw the RB. Even worse, by driving the OT back 10 yards, he opened massive holes for the RB. It did not matter who or how often you talked to him, the rage would win every time.

    http://nba.nbcsports.com/2018/04/24...rubio-lets-get-past-that-were-done-with-that/

Utah outscored Oklahoma City by 12 in the 30 minutes the point guards shared the court and won 113-96 to take a 3-1 series lead.

How did the matchup with Rubio go, Russ?

"It’s not about me and him. Let’s get past that. We’re done with that."

    How convenient.

Westbrook is the one who brought attention to the individual matchup. He took stopping Rubio upon himself. Now, when it didn’t go well, Westbrook suddenly doesn’t want to talk about it?

Maybe Westbrook realized he got carried away, to the detriment of his team. It’s not too late to fix that, and this could be his attempt to do so before Game 5 Wednesday.

But he also must own the egg on his face for putting the spotlight on Westbrook-Rubio and then dodging the attention once the matchup went south.

Westbrook cost them the series last year as he bricked in the clutch. That series was very close. This year same thing. When will the excuses stop? Harden would get murdered yet all analysts are calm.

I was waiting for the deluge of criticism after Russ' comments. Didn't come. After talking all that hot sh-t, Russ gets a pass.

Being outscored by 20 is literally showing how the "hustle' disappointed...

EDIT: To clarify... I meant lose by 17... but I hope ya'll get the point.

Lulz at playing DB on RUBIO of all players. I get he had played well, and has been better, but he's hardly an offensive juggernaut. I can't believe you have a coach that would allow him to do that. Fire college boy, he cant coach (insane) men.

Russ getting into early foul trouble by being over-aggressive defensively on Rubio was so predictable after the comments he had made

he basically took himself out of the game, a game his team desperately needed, because he was focused on trying to lock up Rubio...that’s not leadership, that’s being selfish and straight up dumb tbh

Kenny Smith explained this pretty well during the halftime last night. He showed Russell on the big screen completely out of the flow of the game because he's concentrated so much on Rubio. Yes, Rubio had a great game 3, but that grabbed Westbrook's manhood. He just couldn't let Rubio show him up again. And yet Rubio showed him up by playing within the team.

What was the meme I saw from Brazil after the World Cup final in 2014? Translated: "Brazil has Neymar. Argentina has Messi. Germany has a team."

He sure showed Rubio he was 1st team ALL NBA defense! Meanwhile, he didn't play any team defense and everyone else was OPEN for driving lane and shots because WB was intend on Shutting down the worst Shooter in the history of the NBA

GO WESTBROOK. YOUR NBA MVP- Signed Doris Burke- who said WB should be MVP again this year because he almost averaged a Triple Double again
