I have fun with the Tinman about being 99ers but damn

Did we legit think we would not lose a game?

We complain about the late arriving crowd at Toyota Center
but they are better fans than some of you guys
They get out and pay money and show up eventual

One blown layup and you guys ready to trade a guy
One Loss in the playoffs you are ready to blow up the team

    Calm the f*ck down!!

If the Rockets relied on Clutchfans for positive vibes. . . they would fricking starve
I have jokes about bandwagon fans
    but
Man the game thread is so full of fairweather front runners it is unreal

First off, just because people have the time/money to go to a game, doesn't make them more of a fan than the person who watches them on TV.

I agree that people need to take time to think about a loss / win to properly come up with a conclusion, but as far as knee-jerk reactions go, some people hit it right on the nose. The Rockets just didn't come into this game with the proper motivation.

This mindset won't fly against better teams, so Houston needs to get their **** together, asap. Harden may have stuffed the stat sheet, but there were crucial moments in the game where he just killed all momentum of a comeback. At one point, Anderson had hit 2 3s in a row, and Harden followed that up with an airball 3 and a careless TO.

I will never understand the team playing poorly and fans getting on other fans because they don’t react the way they think they should. Rockets played like trash. You don’t have to wait until disaster actually hits before you get upset about that.

Besides, fair weather fans don’t get mad. Fair weather fans don’t care. People who don’t care don’t get mad. They are apathetic and shrug their shoulders and move the hell on.

A bunch of upset fans are s bunch of fans who are passionate and think the team should play better.

I’m seriously starting to believe that 10% of the people here are bipolar. It’s ok to lose a game. It’s also ok to have discussions on why the team lost and what they can do better. For me, that kind of discussion is therapeutic and really helps to ease the sting of a loss, especially since I watch the games in the morning and have to go through the rest of the damn day.

What’s ****ing annoying is that some of these people are borderline trolly (they only show up during bad moments, relish in pointing out how “right” they were when a Rockets player is struggling, etc.)

That’s not being a fan. That’s being an idiot. And this most definitely deserved its own thread.

I want a chip, this team has not played chip level ball yet, they need to shake off regular season Rockets and turn on playoff intensity, or we are gonna get run by GS later.

It’s times like these you realize who acts like ashleym and who watches basketball.

We were never gonna go 16-0 but apparently clutchfans thought so.

And well since we didn’t, blow it up

This was not their best game
but for 67 out of 85 games they have been ok

I wonder how many games have had people shooting over 55% from three when shooting over 20
I can pretty much guarantee that their are not that many from TWolves

Can we lose this series. . yea. . anything can happen
but I will worry more once we are down in the count

Play who is in front of you . . . . People are s*cking the Warriors off
No matter what mistakes they make or poor games. .. people will bend the knee to them
    and give the every opportunity

Then hate on the Rockets for every misplay
    PEOPLE WERE b****ING LAST GAME
    and we won by 20

Let’s start a dialogue please, actual dialogue on why we lost.

It wasn’t all them shooting hot from 3, although that contributed.

Our defense wasn’t as crisp and intense. Our offense wasn’t right at lots of points. We forced up a bunch of random shiit like pull up long 2s from Gordon.

We let them control the pace and how we wanted to play. We weren’t nearly as engaged on defense and for some reason tucker hardly played while being our most important defender.

About 12 times I watched the 1-4 PnP with Ryan, showing Anderson wide open but for most of the game we just drove into traffic. Harden has to make that read and not force it especially with the iffy officiating. And this was all before Ryan got hot.

We lost the turnover battle and we didn’t create enough turnovers. We also lost the rebounding battle.

We did not impose our will enough and we lost

Generally people are looking for fist pumping and yelling and screaming
    Not really the Rockets Style

    That said. . . they still finding their legs . . . . .

The Wolves could have easily been a 3 seed if Butler did not go down
The 3 seed is now OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS
The 4 and 5 Seeds are fighting tooth and nail
The #2 Seed is playing a team with the best player on the sidelines and their next best player is LaMarcus Aldridge

Let's not act like the Warriors are playing inspired ball against Murder's row
They are play against Lamarcus, The Corpse of Gasol, Ginobili and Parker . . .and a Rookie Point Guard
and oh yea .. . POP's wife just died . . . so they might just be a little distracted

    but
noooooo . . .. The Warriors are GODS
I mean their 1st championship - they played no fully healthy teams
they won 73 games and LOST IN THE FINALS
Then they got ANOTHER top 5 player and won another
    and
this year they STILL look uber mortal and vunerable

    Agree. PJ Needed more time
Harden / CP3 / Ryno connect seems rusty
    We did not dictate tempo

IMO Most important was the Lay up drill . . .we *have* to defend the paint . . . that is the ball game

I had fans on another site saying in the 3rd "If the Rockets don't comeback here its over against the Warriors"

What kind of bulls*t transitive property are people like this using?

    Every matchup is different.

The Warriors don't have speedy athletes at PG like Rose and Teague. They have Curry who has a messed up knee and ankle along with Quinn Cook.

Yeah I think the communication on switches was bad.

Capela played less minutes, our second most important defender.

Tucker played significantly less minutes (for some reason idk), our most important defender.

Cp3, a great defender usually, played badly. Got beat off the dribble multiple times and fouled out (on some tacky calls otw tho)

Even gsw historic playoff run last year included losses...

As much as I don’t like to blame officials, and honestly, I think if the Rockets were playing up to the usual standards they would have pulled this one out even with the officiating, I do agree that the calls were rather spotty this game.

Along with all the points you made I also think the Rockets may not quite have expected how crazy the atmosphere would be. One of the slightly troubling issues with this team is a tendency to step off the gas at times, but at least this year they’ve stepped it up in big games.

I think game 4 will be a different story, and the Rockets will be the imposers and not the impose-ees
