As much as I have been a proponent of Norwell, he is going to cost a ton. At the moment I think my preference is to go hard after Pugh (assuming his back check out, if not, Kline) as a veterean OG and then Fleming as a RT. I am, at the moment, presuming that Davenport is the guy at LT and Martin holds down C. I say bring back Mancz as a reserve C/G and then look at picking up the last guard in the draft (Hernandez/Wynne/Teller/Hearn).
Go all out for offensive line help in FA. Try to fix the defense in the draft. I don't want Watson running for his life while a 3rd round left tackle learns how to wipe his own ass. If it takes a while for the defense to get it together, so be it. Obviously if Billy Price or Kolton Miller is sitting there in the 3rd you take him, but ykwim.

Sign at least one offensive lineman. The Houston offensive line is a mess. Duane Brown was traded and not replaced. Xavier Su'a-Filo was a Texans punching bag and is now a free agent. Jeff Allen hasn't lived up to the free-agent deal he signed after leaving the Chiefs and wasn't good at guard before being moved to left tackle out of sheer desperation, where he committed three consecutive false starts on one fourth-quarter drive. Chris Clark and Breno Giacomini are both free agents. Derek Newton is recovering after rupturing both of his patellar tendons in 2016 and might never play again. This is a mess. The Texans will line up Nick Martin at center and probably bring back Allen, if only because there was a time in the past when he was a competent player. I'd suggest that the Texans draft linemen, but Cleveland owns their first- and second-round picks as a result of the Deshaun Watson and Brock Osweiler trades, meaning that Houston probably won't be looking at many starting-caliber tackles in the third round. As a result, new general manager Brian Gaine is going to have to go to the free-agent market and probably overpay to win on at least one lineman. The problem: There really aren't many good offensive linemen out there. The Texans will be linked to Nate Solder because of Bill O'Brien's Patriots connection, but O'Brien overlapped with Solder for only one year, and guys whom the Patriots allow to leave don't exactly have a great track record with their new teams. Guys like Greg Robinson and Donald Stephenson haven't looked good as starters. The Texans probably have to get creative. They could look at Steelers utility lineman Chris Hubbard, who has been very useful at multiple positions for Pittsburgh, and pay him to be a full-time right tackle. They could compete for Justin Pugh, a college left tackle who played both guard and tackle for the Giants, and hope that he's good enough to play on the edge on a full-time basis. They'll also be in the market for cap casualties. If the Bills want to move on from Cordy Glenn or the Eagles decide to release Jason Peters, the Texans should be one of the first teams on the phone. More marginal contributors such as Austin Howard, Ben Ijalana and Jared Veldheer also should be on Houston's radar. The Texans don't really have much of a choice but to be in the free-agent market up front.
Zierlein says Sitton is a locker room problem who wore out his welcome in CHI. That aligns with why the Packers punted him: I talked with an NFL source over the weekend who doesn’t work for the Packers or Sitton but was familiar with the dynamic that led to the left guard’s departure. The source said Sitton at times was a fun and engaging presence, but he also was brash and highly opinionated. He openly disparaged personnel moves, coaching decisions and his teammates’ abilities in any and every setting at the Packers’ facilities, regardless of who was in earshot. He also could be argumentative in meetings and refused to do some blocking techniques and drills on the practice field. The source said that while Sitton was at the top of his game, the Packers acquiesced. But as the 30-year-old’s play began to slip in the last year or so, in part because of his chronic back condition, the team felt less compelled to accommodate him. If Norwell hits the market (not franchised), you throw the kitchen sink at him. Watson needs all the help he can get, in that I mean stay healthy.
To answer the question posed in the title simply.....every one of them you believe is better than what you’ve got currently. Or better than the sieve you put on the field and thought you might actually win a bunch of games. In more detail....you kick the tires on every guard and tackle out there. You’ve got a competent C in Martin. The rest of those clowns were mediocre at best. The O line has to be the #1 priority hands down. While the secondary needs upgrades, the front 7 and them being healthy should mask a lot of the issues there. You can’t mask an awful o line.
