I've never felt that KL was a lock to sign a long term deal with the Spurs..... he may..... but........ I wonder what his worth is on the trade market????

    Thoughts?

Are you being sarcastic? SA isn't trading him and his injured indefinitely so he isn't worth **** on the trade market right now.

Just saw the tweet by Woj posted in the other thread by @zeeshan2 which should make a new thread about it imo.

With that said, unless there's something really bad about this injury, his value should still be terrific as today, every team would be all over Kawhi if the Spurs would make him available, maybe the only problem might be that he's going to expire after the next season if i'm not wrong (?), not sure if and by how much that would change his value.

I'd trade him for Ben Simmons... or the Greek Freak... it's not a guarantee he's resigning with the Spurs.. and yes his health is paramount on trade value

His value in trade would be insane.

Tatum, Jaylen, Lakers 1st, at least one more 1st and a quality “veteran” contract/expiring to match salaries.

I don’t think he is worth much of anything on the trade market until he comes back and proves he can stay healthy while playing at an elite level, but at that point the spurs would want to keep him rather than trade him.

His value is at an all time low for him right now.

    My thought:
Kawhi is making pression on the Spurs to get now a max extention contract.

@Bruce Bowen where is this talk coming from? Have there been rumors he won't stay?

    I just googled his contract
A 90 Million Dollar deal - "The deal will kick in for the 2015-16 season and run through the 2019-20 campaign"

No way in hell he will take ANYTHING less than a Max Contract
He probably feels they owe him BACK PAY!

No... but if he's not happy and you want to get 'fair' value... then a trade can't be in a contract year

The Grumbling maybe from him . . . .esp if he thinks the SPURS BEING OVERLY CAREFUL is
really THE SPURS ARTIFICIALLY SUPRESSING HIS VALUE

"We love ya Kwahi baby . .. just need you to sit out next year" - The Spurs

    a year later
"Come on Kawhi baby . . .you was out all last year. . .we cannot give the max to an injury prone player" - The Spurs

I have a feeling he stays tho. I mean if you can get the Greek freak or someone then maybe but other than that why not just try to make him happy and give him whatever he wants? He is a stud

I think Ryno and a 2nd rounder will get it done.

ESPN just did a full write-up about a rift... just as thorough as the GREAT RAID featuring Chris Paul.

If Timofey Mozgov is worth two firsts, then minimum four firsts. ;)

Fine, I'll give you George Hill. :D

    Depends on his health/recovery.

It is alarming that his quad is still not healed and he is not comfortable playing how he wants to play.

I wonder if there is more to this than we know.

I hope it’s not chronic but man this happens in every era.

An alltime talent gets his career cut short (bill Walton) or can’t play at the level he should have been able to (g.hill, penny)

I hope that’s not the case but something is def not right with his body.
